Hi,

Let me guess, the emails are coming from a Windows PC not a Mac. There's no problem with your Entourage. The problem is the Windows PC sending emails to you.

Based on my research, This issue usually happens when a Windows PC sending emails with attachment to a Mac is running Windows Vista and using Goggle Chrome as their default browser.

Hope this helps.
Cheers!

How to download an email attachment program to my laptop?

Hi
Without knowing who your email provider is, I can't give you specific details, but one thing worth looking at is the size of the file for the photograph. With todays' 10Megapixel cameras and above, the files can be huge and some email providers restrict the size of files that can be attached to emails.
If you would post who your provider is then I an go into more detail as to how to add attachments to emails.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

When i open an attachment in my email i goto windows media center i need to goto the attachment i'm tring to veiw how do i get back to viewing the attachment ?

What type of attachment it is? Is it JPEG(image), or Word File or , Excel File? To open the file type you should select the proper application. You can try the following thing while opening your e-mail attachment. right click on the Attachment which you have download and select Open With. It'll show you the list of application through which you can view your attachment. In your case i thing Window Media player is selected by default that why when ever you try to open it keeps on opening in Media Player.
First try to know what type of mail attachment you are getting, If you have Word file then select Open with "Microsoft word", If any image then Select "windows picture and fax viewer".
If it is a .PDF file type then you should open it with Adobe Reader(IF you don't have Adobe reader then You need to download it from net to few it.
Similarly if it is ZIP. file then you must have Win ZIP software to open it.

I hope you understand what i mean to say and Hope it'll work for you. :))

Can I email a voice file from my laptop to an office computer; if so, can you explain how to do it?

You can just send an email to yourself while on the laptop and save the voice file as an ATTACHMENT to that email message.

Then just open the email and attachment when you get to the office computer and save the voice file somewhere on the office computer.

On GMail, the ATTACH FILE button is just under the SUBJECT line on the COMPOSE A NEW MESSAGE page.

When you click on that button, it will ask you to navigate to the location of the file on your computer. Do that, then just double click on it and the file will be loaded into the email message. When it is done loading, just send the email message. As long as the file is not huge, there should be no problem sending it.

Good luck.

Cant open Excel files. Not even from emails with Excel attached

Hi,
either your MS Office Installation is currupt or your system in infected with a virus.
Please scan your system using a good virus scanner. (Please uninstall any prior scanner if you have and pl avoid using McAfee for the time being).

Now open your excel go to Office button
Office Button --> Excel Options --> Resources --> Diagnose
if problem comes during diagnosis, please connect your system to internet and if fails, please reinstall office again.

Good Luck

I am trying to send my professor my paper and the microsoft works word , won't let me send it, what other options do I have I have until 1:00 today

Rather than trying to send from within a "word document", have you tried saving a copy, quitting word, going into your email program, and attaching it as a file that way, then sending?

(As long as you attach something, then whether he can open it or not, he knows that something got sent!!)

If there isa more specific error message, please post an additional comment.

I have Windows EX, and Lexmark All -In-One 2300. I have tried various ways and followed help suggestions but I am unable to make attachments. I cannot attach from SCAN or from File. Everything OK until...

It sounds like you are combining too problems into one. You can attach any file to an email. However if that file is a type that your computer is not aware of (ie. you don't have software that uses that kind of file) you will get a application association error.

Computers use the last three letters of the file name after the "." to determine the file type....it's also called an extension. This comes from the old DOS days and is still in effect today, (sort of). It's getting increasingly difficult to see the extension of a particular file in Vista for instance.

In any case if you want to scan an image and attach it to an email you must first get the scanned image in a file format that most computers can understand, for instance a .jpg format (JPEG) or .pdf (Adobe Acrobat). You can usually change the file type in your scanning software as an option. Perhaps a "Save As" function exists under a file menu?

Once you get the file in a folder (ie. "My Documents") you can then open your email software, create a new message and use the attach file button, select the file and it should attach.

Hope that was helpful,

Can not open email attachment

The MSI file it is asking for is an additional feature from your Microsoft Office software disk.
You will have to find a copy of that version of office to be able to install it.

What is the extension on the email attachment file? You might be able to use a different program to open it.

Opening downloads on emails

all you need to know is the file extension of the file you downloaded. there are some common file extensions when attaching to the email . pdf , doc, if pictures the JPG,PNG, BMP, and many more. however if u have an office application program (Microsoft office, open office) all office files will be opened but if the file extension is PDF you must download and install the PDF reader. you can download it here http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
Take note! Any other files which you don't whose the sender and the extension files is not on office application program not pdf or picture files maybe can harm your system so be sure to know the files.
