Step 1- remove the face of the dryer, then remove the cover for the fan, check to see if object is blocking the fan, if object is there , remove object, if not go to step 2 step 2- check to see if the belt is broken, if the belt is broken replace the belt. step 3 - remove the belt from the motor and turn the dryer on, if the motor doesn’t turn then you need to replace the motor.
Dlg2524w gas dryer has not ever dried a normal load like it should 2-3 hours a load. I looked at the belt and it has lots of tenichen but i have turn drum by hand to get it moveing?

Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote about dryers and noises...
It will help you determine what is happening there...
How old is your dryer? strage noise usually take place if the unit is old and worn out. I dont know of any washer or dryer doesn't make noise after years of using. The more you use the more ware and tear and noise come from the unit. Noise can be the belt loose or tumbler padding or flange, connected to a simple bushing is worn out, making the unit woobily noisy. No heat mean your heating elements probably burnt out need replacing which will cost 80-100 bucks. its fairly easy to replace once you remove the back cover. To find out what making that noise, the best thing to do is run the dryer with the back cover off by look and listhen and see what making that noise.
Thanks so much, problem solved on step one...a sock!
