Nintendo DS Lite Console - Repairable or Not?

My son's DS Lite has just ran out of the 1 year warranty (bought last Christmas)....typical !!
Has just started playing up.....fully functional then half way through game dies/cuts off. Switch it back on and it's ok for roughly 2 mins then cuts off/dies again and again and again!
Is this a common fault? Is it repairable (can't afford costly repairs if best cutting my losses and buying a new one)?
Would have leaving it in car = moisture cause this? We placed it in warm temp room and full charged to no avail!!!!
Would be very grateful for any advice please.

Have the same problem with my daughters console. But (of course) it is only three months old and the receipt has disappeared off the face of the earth! Have tried charging again (and again), different games,to no avail. Will try without the battery though - fingers crossed!

I am NewYear08, I think DS is gone? - now won't even turn on. So thought maybe it needs charging up. Plugged in charger, orange light comes on, then after a couple of minutes, orange light goes out. Tried this several times, same thing happens over and over. In between the attempts of using charger tried switching on - doesn't want to know. Did all the usual check/swap charger (other children have spare chargers). DS not switching on??? Help!! Would appreciate any good advice/verdict.

I was contemplating buying screwdriver to open up and guess let dry!!?? Would this be advisable or waste of time? If good idea, where can I get one and are they costly?

Got Console & charger from online seller. When put on charge console lights for a second but then goes out, have tried charger with other things and it works perfectly, feel connection must be faulty, bent or something, can it be repaired? Needless to say online seller doesn't want to know! I'll buy from a shop in future.

He might have dropped it or got angry with a game and whacked his head into it believe me I know how it happens. It will freeze so you turn it off then back on again after a few tries it won't work ever again so it's best to contact the people you got it from and Either get it looked at which doesn't cost too much or buy a new one.

Um well if this is happenig i sugest that you call the number on the back of the ds and ask them what the problem is its about 45$ to send it in and get it repaired but no leaving it in the car would not do this because i have dropped it in my pool once (lol) and nothing happened to it i just let it dry so as long as it isnt still moist then it will work also it may be your battery try taking it out and pluging in to the charger and using it without the battery. and you said that it does it half way through the game try another game.

I bought a nintendo ds lite a month ago and the last week or so, the touch screen has become really shaky. Can I get it repaired or is it something that can't be fixed?

Hi did you buy it new or second hand?

If you bought it new I would bring it back to the shop you purchased it in as it would be under guarantee and they should replace it or repair it for you at no cost to yourself.

If its second hand some of the phone repair shops also do computer and console repairs its worth checking out.

Nintendo DS won't power-up

It sounds like a faulty battery. As it is under 1 year old, it is still under warranty. Return it to the origional place of purcase, who will either fix or replace it.
