That unit should still be reparable, however, the cost might be more than you'd expect.
A diagnostic visit from a manufacturer's repair agent will usually run about $150 in the US. They'll take that amount off of the total bill if you go forward with the repair. In your case, the TV could just need an adjustment, but it's more likely that they will replace a broken circuit board which can run $200, $300, or even more.

A WS-55413 LENTICULAR SCREEN IS $171.10 + DELIVERY BUT THE DIAMOND SHIELD ISNT NEEDED THEY TELL ME AND IT WAS DISCONTINUED ANYWAYS BUT YOUR PART IS PROBABLY AVAILABLE THERE.
Howdy,
Yes, you can still get them from the Factory. I just checked and Mit's has all items in stock.
The SCREEN- LENTICULAR IS; 491P103030: $171.10. The LENS-FRENSEL IS; 491P104030: $212.80. The Diamond Shield IS; 760D639020: $77.90.
My Mitsubishi Diamond Sheild also had scratches on it, and I solved the problem at no cost by taking some automotive wax, and hand-polishing the shield with a smooth rag (old t-shirt works great!) Leave it right on the television, no need to take it off.
HINT: Don't leave wax on too long, and just do a small section at a time.
