From what I can find the code means that the update data is corrupt. There are no great answers for this problem. There are a few things you can try but they all have limited success. The 1st option is to download the update from the internet and load it onto a usb flash drive and try updating it again or 2 back up your save game files and then reformat the hard drive then attempt to load update. If neither works then you should look at calling sony tech support if not for a fix for information as to your options. Search online for you closest repair shop.

In some cases you may need to replace the hard drive itself.

it means the firmware file that you are trying to install on the ps3 is corrupted. you need to redownload it and attempt to update again.

If you are alright with resetting, i would suggest reformatting.

Is it possible your bluray drive is not working. I had a similiar isssue where I took my PS3 apart and forgot to reconnect the cable.

As long as it is still in the downloading stage and not the installing stage then you can safely power down your PS3. Sometimes this happens if the server you are trying to download from is having issues... your best bet is to try again later.
