Are there universal remote codes for a Cyberhome DVR 1600.

I have an extra 1600 remote.
I Frankensteined 2 dvrs together to make a working unit,
and ended up with an extra remote.

My unit finallt over heated and died, so let me know where to send the remote. You can send me a cd of music or starbucks tiny little gift card for my trouble if you so desire.

contact cyberhome to find out who actually makes the unit (e.g. western digital, scientific atlanta). then use the codes for the actual manufacturer on your universal remote. that should do the trick.

I have a GE Universal remote and the codes for Cyberhome are 0393,0985,0939. Try all of them.

codes for this dvr are

0816

they don't work for my new remote but everywhere says they are right

How to convert your CyberHome CH-DVR 1600
into a Region Free DVD Player
There are two versions of the Cyberhome DVR 1600 which require different methods of changing the Region Coding
CH-DVR 1600 MU

1. Power Up the unit with NO Disc in the tray.
2. Press the Setup button on your remote control
3. Press the 1 button on your remote control
4. Press the 6 button on your remote control
5. Press the 9 button on your remote control
6. Press the 5 button on your remote control
7. Press the 1 button on your remote control
8. Press the 8 button on your remote control
9. Select the region code with the Number buttons or the Navigation Buttons on your remote control. 0 (Zero) for Multiregion.
10. Exit the menu
11. Press the Power Off button on your remote control
12. Press the Power On button on your remote control

CH-DVR 1600 ZU

1. Power Up the unit with NO Disc in the tray.
2. Press the Setup button on your remote control
3. Press the Red Record button on your remote control
4. Press the 8 button on your remote control
5. Press the 1 button on your remote control
6. Press the 0 button on your remote control
7. Press the 5 button on your remote control

I have bought a new remote off ebay but it doesn't work. Do I need a code and if so how do i go about getting it?
