I have the same problem with both my daughters cameras...It is really starting to irritate me. What can i do to fix this?

  • Anonymous Jan 09, 2008

I have purchased 2 of these camera's and both have the same problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the downloader several times. My camera recognizes that it is connected to the PC because PC displays in the window of my camera. My Computer recognizes that there is new hardware. The downloader just cannot find the camera.

I have the same problem. How do you fix it?

  • Anonymous Jan 28, 2008

same problem on two cameras. i suspect that the cameras are designed so as not to work without installing the large bundle of packaged software (cd lost and computer changed). frustrating that drivers can't be downloaded to make these work.

i suppose it is overkill but - same problem. why does disney not address it?? they s... :^(

I have downloaded software and plugged in usb cable to PC...downloader does not recognize camara. I tried it several times and still same thing. Camara is not recognized even though "PC" shows on the window of the camara. I bought two of these and both are not downloading photos. Sure would like to get a solution to this problem!!!

  • Anonymous Feb 29, 2008

What is going on here?!? I have the same problem! everyone seems to be having problems with this and there is no solution for it? We should all get together and start a law suit for this. Because this little camera is worthless if we are unable to download the pictures. We have wasted our money and our daughters feel very frustrated with all this.

The error typically occurs when the camera is connected to the computer before the software is installed and the drivers do not install correctly.
With the camera connected click on the Start Menu, right click on your My Computer Icon and click Properties.
In the System Properties window click the Hardware tab and then click Device Manager.
Under Imaging Devices find the USB Still Camera, right click on it and choose uninstall. If you do not see it under Imaging Devices it may be under Other Devices or Universal Serial Bus Controllers as an Unknown Device. Once it has been uninstalled disconnect the camera and close the screens you have open and disconnect the camera and reboot your computer. Then go to their website and download the drivers and run the driver installer twice to uninstall and then to reinstall and reboot.
After the second boot connect the camera and follow the found new hardware wizard prompts to finish and you should be set.

I found a setup program for the vista driver at: http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/index.html

It will ask to uninstall the driver first. Uninstall and ther re-install the driver.

Reboot the system. The cannot find camera error shows up several more times. It appears that an adobe photoshop album starter application installed that allows to you view and edit photos. In adobe reader there is camera icon, select the camera "from camera". Then choose "Get photos from - Pix Click Camera".

I hope this helps. It was a long and frustrating process but it finally worked.

I've lost my CD with the software to download the photo's of my daughters disney cars digital camera. Who can help me find this software?

1) Connect the camera with the provided USB cable.
2) Download the latest driver from the web site:
http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/226086/medion-disney-pix-digital-camera-driver-1.0-windows-xp-free-download.html
select the "The Disney Pix Micro Drivers for WIN ME, 2000, XP"
3) Install this driver, this will not enable the camera to work yet.
4) After this driver has installed, go to Control Panel
5) Select System
6) Select the Hardware tab
7) Select Device Manager
8) Find the device in the list (mine said "USB Digital Still Camera"), will probably have the yellow exclamation mark on it saying that it is not working.
9) Double click the device
10) Select "Reinstall Driver" from the General tab
11) When asked if Windows can connect to Windows Update to search for software, select "Yes, this time only" and click Next.
12) Choose "Install the software automatically" and click Next.
13) You should get a message saying the driver for the "DB CIF Cam" has not passed the Windows Logo testing, select "Continue Anyway".
14) Click Finish.
15) The first time I did this, I needed to take a picture while the camera was connected to the PC.

After doing this I am able to download the pictures and everything works great. I hope this helps.

Cannot find camera message

Had the same problem and here is what I found to work. This was done on XP when my wife's Vista notebook would not work.

Install the software and reboot.
Connect the camera to the computer so it is recognized.
Disconnect and take pictures.
-- Ready to download --
Start the PixLoader application.
WAIT for the camera to shut off before connecting to the USB and then connect it.
Click "Download".
The pictures should be on your PC.

When I tried to use other methods (like using My Computer) it deleted my photos. It took a bit to figure out how to get it to work.

Disney pix micro: HELP!

That will happen. If you open the camera from My Computer, or Computer in Windows Vista, it completely empties the memory. You need to use the Pix Micro Downloader to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer. There should be a shortcut on your desktop for the Downloader. If there isn't you can go to the following address to get the installer package for it.

Can not install software

i have had this problem with my camera and this is what the manufacter emailed me back
Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Digital Blue. Please unplug the camera from your computer and follow the steps below.
  1. Open the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories. Right-click on 'Command Prompt' and select "Run As Administrator...".
  2. This will bring up a window saying 'Windows needs your permission to continue', please click on the 'Continue' button.
  3. When the DOS window opens, type in (without the quotes):
    'cd c:\windows\system32'
  4. The above should change the command prompt to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32:.
  5. Now, type in (without the quotes): 'regsvr32 vbscript.dll'
    (dll = dynamic link library)
  6. You should see a window pop up stating 'DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded.'
  7. Please insert the software CD with version 2.2.0 into your CD/DVD-ROM drive.
  8. This will bring up the auto-play for the install, please follow the prompts to go through the installation.
  9. The install consists of three different software packages, you should see the Pix 2.2, Pix Loader or Pix Micro Downloader, and the DB CIF Cam being installed.
  10. If you receive an error after the Pix 2.2 install, you will need to download the drivers and Downloader program from our website at http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/index.html You will need to select the 'Disney Pix Micro Downloader' and 'Disney Pix Micro Drivers for WIN Vista'.
  11. Once you have installed the drivers and downloader program you will be asked to restart your computer. After the computer has been restarted, plug the camera into the USB port and look to see that the computer says the drivers have been installed.
  12. Open the Pix Loader or Disney Pix Micro Downloader from your Desktop or from the All Programs list and click on the Download button. If you have a 'Pixel Up' window pop up, click OK, and wait for the download to finish. A 'Delete' button will come up on the Downloader program which will indicate the download has been completed.
  13. You can view the photos by going to 'My Pictures' > 'My Snapshots' or using the Pix 2.2 editing software.

Disney Pix Max 3.0 Megapixel Camera by Digital Blue can't download photos

If you're plugging the camera into a port on the front of your computer try one of the ports on the back. The front ports in most cases only provide 100 milli-amps of power whereas the back ports provide the full 500 milli-amps of power. This could be the problem or it could be your USB cable. Try a different cable and see if that makes a difference. Just make sure that you aren't plugging it into a USB hub and you're connecting it directly to a port in your computer.

Maybe you need to add a software driver for your FinePix 2800, got a disk with the camera? Try loading (reloading?) the driver.
