No. And it could be more than the bulb burned out.

It is if you can get the part, but it's specific to a few Sony models made eight years ago and is no longer available as a new item.

The DSC-F707 is a clunky, clumsy design even by the standards of the time it was designed and the one worthwhile feature was the fast maximum aperture of f2 -2.4. There are plenty of better cameras for similar or lower money than they normally sell for and if you are set on the F707 then save yourself a lot of headaches and buy the best one that you can. Many were given as gifts to folks who quickly gave up on them due to the size and shape and left them unused in their boxes and they appear regularly on auction websites or even as occasional freebies on FreeCycle/Freegle.

I insert a memory stick and it says "No memory Stick" although it will take and record pictures . Does anyone know where i can purchase a 128 Memory stick for the DSC -F707?

You should purchase online from some secure seller.
Like here, its Sandisk Homepage.
search for the compatible Card from the bottom right tab.

Also Note that DSC -F707 doesn't support more than 128-Mb cards.

If helpful, Kindly DO RATE!
Best Regards.

My DSC-F707 won't record images.

Sounds like the CCD has developed a fault. I had a F717 which had similar faults but this turned out to be a batch of faulty CCD's which I know the F707 shared. This maybe why Sony are not keen to get involved as it will cost them money. JVC had a similar problem with some of it's Camcorders using a similar CCD and they replaced them FOC even those well out of warranty. Keep trying with Sony and mention the CCD and serial number of the F707 and see if it is one of the faulty batch.

Could be that the contacts on the camera are oxidised. Try cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and see if this helps. If not, it could indicate a circuitry problem. In this case, you'd probably be better off buying a new cam altogether!

Same problem for me. The flash won't pop-up anymore, even when I select the forced flash.

I hate to take you for an idiot but does the screen display the lightning icon or anything in the top left corner? If the lightning is in a circle it means its off.
