Toshiba 46wh08b the screen on my tosh bends at top corners and i cant get the convergence to rectify the problem

This set uses two stk392-110 convergence chips.

If convergence WILL NOT ADJUST AND OR IS BOWED both chips and any of the 1.8 ohm protect resistors that are around them and bad need to be replaced.

This can be a do it yourself repair if you have some skill, total parts cost on EBAY would be under 25 dollars.

One or both of the STK convergence chips have probably failed.

I can give you guidance on this if you are confident to do the repair. I had the same problem with my Tosh 40WH08B and after replacing these chips it works like new.

There is a convergence board located inside the set that regulates the alignment procedure. this board is malfunctioning and there is a chip set on the board that has failed. you will need to replace this board in order to restore proper convergence functions.

you have a convergence ampliphier ic failing that will need to be changed and then adjusted
average repair cost for this are 280.00 to 320.00

you will need to replace the two convergence ICs and a couple of the pico fuses. Please respond to this same post with your model number and I will assist you further with the problem.

If your Model is Tosh 43H71,then pull chassis and locate F850,
F851 soldered-in fuses...check with meter..if open,replace with
proper value micro fuse(s) and solder jumper wires 008,010,017,
048,600 located on signal board.Replace convergence IC's
STK392-110 with IC's from kit # X 480295 ( upgrade )...........T.

STK392-110 replace with STK394-160
STK392-120 Hitachi replaces these with STK394-160, for other sets it may not be a good sub. They have been fine in the Philips sets so far.
STK392-150 replace with STK394-160
***The 394 series replaced the 392 series and is cooler running. The subs listed here are the ones that I know to work in most sets.

Doug, convergence circuit is failing, involves removing one of the boards, replacing the convergence IC`s and probably a couple of burnt resistors, not a "layperson repair", requires soldering experience, accurate voltmeter to find the bad resistors, etc. I would suggest calling a tv tech for this repair, questions? e-mail me back BMW Rider

you "tooled around with the convergence board" well this chassis has several problems if the convergence doesnt hold replace both stks resolder around that area per tosh tech bulletin the bright problem is probably the hyper module all toshs should be checked with toshiba website to see if they were part of the recalls for power supply caps
