You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode. HTH

If I remember correctly, the model 330 homelite has a solid state ignition system. the only way to check it is to disconnect the stop switch wire from the module, make sure the air gap is set at .010 and check the spark with an old plug or an unsuspecting friend. If there is no spark, the module needs to be replaced.

Husqvarna 163 Chainsaw won't spark.

It has points and condenser.

Check that points make/break. Connect an ohm meter between engine metal and the small primary wire. Rotate flywheel slowly. The meter should go from zero (points closed) to a reading between 0.5 - 3 ohms (points open). If no problem found, disconnect condenser and check spark.

You can check magnet strength with a flat blade screwdriver. The magnet should hold a screwdriver along the blade without falling off.

Have no spark at spark plug on model 6908 Viking tiller, it has a new spark plug and was running and quit while in use. It is a pull start. Please help if possible

If the spark is generated by an electronic module that typically is self contained the only wiring to check is the kill-switch wiring if fitted. If there is no external faults it is likely the module will have to be replaced.

If the spark is generated by an old fashioned points/condenser/coil system, usually cleaning and resetting the contact breaker points will restore the spark.

Can't get it started

There still could be old fuel in the fuel lines. Try a small squirt of starting fluid into the carb. If it fires on that the condenser and points are ok. Do this at most 2 more times.

Adjust the carburator on a Poulan 365 Pro chainsaw?

A good starting point would be about 1 to 11/4 turns out from the screws turn all the way in. Take note of the turns required on each screw to turn in (clockwise) This does not apply to the idle adjustment screw.

Gap coil on ppb 330 poulan pro

First and foremost ppb330 is a model number for a grass line trimmer, gas model.
Second, I am unsure what you are asking. Gap coil?? Do you need the spark plug gap for your chainsaw? That gap is .025.

I hope this helps. If not, please re-post with the correct model number for you chainsaw.

I have a Homelite 330 chainsaw that I bought in 1990. It barely gets used and I have never done any maintenance to it. The problem is when I start the saw it runs wide open for a few seconds and then...

I will share with you the most common problem experienced with the model 330 with that type of symptom. Due to the anti-vibe system design of this saw, the carburetor is connected to the cylinder by a rubber "boot". Should this boot become damaged it creates an air leak and will cause the saw to overspeed and generally not run well at all. While there are other causes of this symptom, too many to list here, this is the most common with that model. Hope this gets you in the right direction.

My 2 year old Jonsered chainsaw starts and runs but has no power. I've cleaned the air filter and replaced the spark plug but still runs the same.

Try playing with the fuel mix screw, one of two that can be accessed on the outside of the saw. one should be marked "T" and the other "S" play with the "T" screw, wind it all the way in and back it off 1 turn as a starting point then half a turn out until you get a result. alternatively... unfortunately, it sounds like the piston rings have gone. go shopping.
