It appears that the pump is tyring to pass water, from the main unit, when the steam trigger - on iron - is pressed.... But no steam is ejected..

    HELLO!!

SORRY HAVE NO IDEA OF THIS .. BUT STILL HAVE GIVEN A TRY !!

  • Anonymous Jan 03, 2008

    HEY TRY THIS
GUESS ITS THE TENDENCY OF CLOGGED IRONS WHICH BLOCKING THE STEAM FLOW...

        Follow
the manufacturer's instructions to keep the steam vents from becoming
clogged. Some irons use tap water; others require distilled water.

        When
you clean the soleplate of your iron, remove residue from the vents
with a cotton swab or pipe cleaner. A sharp knife or other tool may
        scratch the soleplate

    AND ALSO A TIP TO
    to Clean Water Reservoirs

Remove mineral deposits from the water reservoir . Pour a solution of 1/3 cup white vinegar and 1/3 cup
water into the water reservoir. Heat the iron, and let it steam for
about three minutes. Unplug the iron, and position it, soleplate down,
on a small glass dish that has been placed in a larger shallow pan.
Allow the water to drain from the vents for about an hour. Drain away
any remaining solution, and flush the reservoir with clear water before
    using the iron.

My Iron heats up but no steam comes out and no noise please help !! Russell Hobbs steam 2200

If the water used is hard it will build up with shale, and block the steam vents, best to flush with clean water after every second use . Best to take to the dealer and have it serviced .

I have so far seen 3 other people with the problem i have with my russell hobbs steam glide iron 13153. I have tried what was suggested to me but nothing has worked. the iron gets hot but no steam coming...

I would write to russell hobbs and complain, my friend bought one of these 18 months ago and hers got hot but no steam through. She sent it back to them and they sent her a new one as a gesture of goodwill.

Brown water and seems like sand or fine grit comes from iron ,when first put on with the steam

sounds like it is time to de-scale the iron to loosen all the deposits inside the unit.
add some white viegar to the water ( which should be distilled water ) and heat up and let the iron steam out the solution. now add just water to the unit shake it and rinse out with water and drain. now do one more vinegar / water de-scaling and rinse out again. now fill with just distilled water and let it steam out and now your iron should be clean as new.
