Have you tried using your X1 on your PC? Try connecting your X1 to a PC and speak into the X1 mic. Can you hear yourself in the headset? If yes, then the X1 mic and headset are OK but you need a new chat-controller cable. If not, then you should contact Turtle Beach about it --- [email protected].

I have fixed this. Beleive it or not they have miswired the cable (from the Earforce Amp) end at the controller which houses a small cct board (inside the hockey puck) that controls the voice volume control. You need to reverse the Red and Black wire solder points(from the amp) so you will need some skill with soldering. I did this and tested the mic now works with the dial adjusting the voice vol.
Turle Beach needs to do a massive recall on these X1s; how can you realese a fairly expensive product like this that does not work out of the box. And they have removed all the forums from their web site concerning this as they know they have a faulty product,

Have you tried using your X1 on your PC? Plug the green plug to the green jack, pink plug to pink jack, USB plug to USB port. Speak into the mic and you should hear yourself in the headset. If you can hear yourself, then the problem is the chat-controller cable and you should get that replaced. If not, it may mean your X1 mic is broken and you should contact Turtle Beach about that --- [email protected].
