Please add more information to get specific assistance. Are these wireless devices? If wired, do they use USB or PS/2 connections.
For wireless devices, try replacing the batteries and resynching to the receiver. (You may want to check putting the receiver in different USB ports.)
For wired devices, disconnect and reconnect. For PS/2 devices, you will need to restart the computer to check if the devices work. For USB devices, try connecting to different USB ports.
Next step, try using a different keyboard and mouse (that work on another computer (stick to USB or PS/2 to match the current pair)). Try a wired set if the problem is with a wireless pair. If those work, continue diagnostics on the wireless keyboard and mouse. Check if the mouse and keyboard work on another computer. If they don't work with another computer, replace them.
If another USB keyboard and mouse pair don't work in any port, your USB ports may have failed. Check if even one port works enough to access the Device Manager. (Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager (Win7); similar directions in other versions of Windows) Check for a problem with the drivers (For USB ports, scroll down to the USB drivers and look for a triangle with a yellow exclamation point or red x). Try to update the driver or roll it back. If that doesn't help and one USB port works, a USB hub may solve the problem.
Otherwise if the USB or PS/2 ports do not work with any devices and the driver fix doesn't work, then I'd suspect a problem with the ports on the motherboard. Replace the motherboard/computer.
u might have to format it in safe mode or buy a new one, if you try it on some one elses comp. and it works it ur comp. but it is most of the time a software issue
It is probably a driver error on your operating system. I suggest trying a couple different ports- if that doesnt work try a different computer. If that doesnt work most likely your drive file system is damaged and needs to be formatted. Good luck!
You need to find out what motherboard you have or if your computer came with a disk. You need to load the driver of the motherboard so you can access your usb ports.
hi, see if you have installed any new devices/hardware to see if its conflicting, often grafics cards conflict usb devices, also just check that in the setup(when you boot up)that the usb ports have not been disabled or usb keyboard support hasn't been enabled/disabled. good luck!!
Just a few questions about your system and we should be able to resolve your problem fairly quickly. Firstly is your xp a service pack 2 installation, secondly is your usb ports usb 2.0, and finally does other usb devices work properly when plugged into the same physical usb port on your pc?
Scan disk drives have the driver and application software on a partition built onto the drive thats not accessible for write access, meaning you cant format that partition. Other systems see that partition just fine, but it seems your system is having trouble doing so. Theres a few reasons for this trouble. If you can provide me with the detail i need about your system im shure we can resolve your issue promptly.
