Those links are for a "universal" driver that allows for printing, but not scanning. At one time there was a beta release for Vista. I'm on a new machine myself and am looking as well.
Go to

download and burn a Cd for future.

Since it's not listed here, either HP hasn't written a new driver for the scanner in Vista 64 bit or it may be that previous versions of the driver have been found to work. You should get in touch with HP.

Go there and try download the Drivers and Utility for the 64-bit Version of Vista. Pretty bad that HP's own website has the info you need, yet they say it won't work.
