Setting the time on a Timex Data Link 851 Watch

Does anyone know how to set the time on a Timex Ironman Dat Link 851 watch? I've lost the manual and the timex website is not and has not been working for days now.....the part of the website that has manual downloads. I've emailed the company but gotten no response. This watch only has a mode button, a reset button, a start/split button, and a dial on the side that turns. I've tried everything i can think of but cannot get it to get to a place where i can change the time. Thanks for your help!

Actually, the Timex site has come back up. The way the time is set is you pull the crown out from the watch and turn it to adjust. You hit mode to accept the change and when you're done, you push the crown back in.

I have the same problem. Pulling the crown out no longer works, nor does pushing the crown in activate the light anymore. It seemed to start the first time I connected it to my computer. I just pulled the battery out, replaced it and reset the watch by doing a AC->VSS short and it still does not work. This watch is a piece of ****. It could have been great, but Timex seemed to put in a less than stellar effort into it.

Not if you watch is broken...like mine! Sounds like other people are having the same issues with their watch. I think I will be taking mine back...

Addition: Pull out stem and depress mode. Time and date can be changed easily. Use mode to step through settings. When finished press stem and go. fletch29

You have to use the USB cable and do it through your computer. There is no way to change the time on the watch. Bad design.

You can get instructions from the Timex web site "timex.com".

At the bottom of the screen click on "manuals/downloads", then on "product
manual download"

Enter your watch type in the search box and click on "search"

After replacing a battery in a timex ironman with data link, they tell you to short the ac pad and the vss pad. Were are those points located?

You will find them on the module itself.
So after replacing the battery look on the PCB (printed circuit board) for the letters"AC" and "VSS". Adjacent to these markings there should be little contact points (probably gold or silver looking in colour)
Use a paper clip or similar and bridge (short) these two points simultaneously. Please rate my solution.
