Red light flashing 7 times on Phillips 42PF9431D/37 HDTV

Can anyone trouble shoot for me, why my tv is flashing a red light 7 times in the left hand corner? Called two tv repair men and after describing the problem to them and the make of the tv, they say they will check into it and then never call back!! Is this something that CAN be fixed, or am I doomed for buying a lemon!

No, I don't think you have a lemon, you have a great TV. It is just to complex for you to fix yourself. I think you have a ADC that went bad and needs to be checked out. You need to have a service adjustment done by your Service Tech. You just can't fix the ADC without clearing the buffers, and all the other procedures needed to fix this TV. I think your TV repair persons are probably just going over the complex procedures to fix your TV. This TV is real special, complex but, simple too. It has some 5 digit error code buffer procedures, I have never seen on any other sets. I do think you will need one sharp Philips Service Tech, and maybe Philips can help you with that if they haven't already. If you are not getting response from your Service Tech, I'd call Philips or a certified representative and have them get you one now. You shouldn't have to wait because, the local service techs haven't done their homework, or can't do the work.

Click here for a Philips service site, if needed.

ADC on B18 7L04-MST9883C, actually 9883(MSTAR). The original blue print uses another chip for this function. I wonder why they changed it, only to fail with this product. I hope you have a warranty because, I have a feeling you shouldn't have to pay for this. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
