Re: HELP ME PLEASE
If moisture condensation has occurred, remove the recordable media (tape) and then turn off and leave the media compartment open for the hour the camcorder is turned off . The camcorder can be used again if the warning indicator does not appear when the power is turned on again.
Moisture condensation normally occurs when the camcorder is brought directly from a cold place to a warm place. It can condense inside the camcorder, on the recording media, or the lens and cause a malfunction. To prevent moisture condensation when you bring your camcorder from a cold place into a warm place, put your camcorder in a plastic bag and seal it tightly. Remove the bag when the air temperature inside the plastic bag has reached the surrounding temperature.

hi,
i have a HVR-A1E that uses the same mechanism and it is a real s...t, i used this cam only a few times and had same problem...
i found out on blogs that is a default on those cams... i had to buy another cam to be able to read the recordings i made !
i went to this solution, i bought a FW recorder that records in real time with included battery and hard disk, because the only really sure repair is to change all mechanism (more money than buying another cam !) and must be done by a professional because the mechanism is extremely sensible to mount and adjust !
i tryied many things: let the door open for a long time and then reboot, try to move a little gear that is the responsible of the problem, putting a bit of mechanic oil, and nothing worked !
the problem comes from a little gear that have troubles to move correctly, and this gear is also activating a sensor that says to the main board, that the door is well closed or not...
cheers,
mich
Tape mechanism problems can be quite complicated but theycan usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Perform the following troubleshooting steps and check whether it helps;
1. Check whether the issue persists with all the tapes. If the issue persists with a particular tape, the issue is with the tape. change the tape.
2. Check whether the battery is fully charged,
3. If the batteruy is nit fully charged, connect the Camcorder to the wall outlet using the supplied AC adaptor.
4. Then, reset the Camcorder by pressing the RESET button using a sharp-pojnted object while it is turned ON.
5. If the issue still persists, remove the battery pacjk and disconnect the Camcoredr from the wall outlet; then slide the power switch to ON position for at least 30 seconds. Then reconnect the AC adaptor to the Camcorer after 1 minute.
If the issue still persists, service may be requuired. Please cointact ur Camcorder manufacturer to get it serviced.
