When picking up dry materials use the foam sleeve that slips on and the blue cloth (assuming there all blue) over it, there should be a ring that slides over blue cloth to hold it in place over the foam sleeve, for wet pick up u can use the foam sleeve minus the blue cloth but let it dry out before picking up dry stuff, you can pick up both wet and dry with a cartrige filter that looks simular to a car air filter and it slips over the foam sleeve, but let it dry out after picking up water before picking up dry cause itll just clog it up

How do i turn the pump on to pump out the water this is a 16 gallon 5.75 peak horsepower wet dry vacuum.

If you want to get water that's in your vacuum, OUT of your vacuum, you simply need to remove the top and dump the water out. As far as I know, the Shop-Vac 962-16-00 won't "pump out" any water that's in it.

If you want to pump water from one place to another (for example, your basement to your backyard), this vacuum doesn't pump water "through" itself (like a sump pump) - it will, however, **** water up. You just need to dump it out once the vacuum is full.

Bought house. Inherited shop/vac. A bit old, but

If you are going to use the wet vac to remove water, be sure to remove the bag inside the canister first. Also, some wet vacs have an internal float that has to be installed, but that may not be the case with yours.

Set up the shop vac to pick up water

I figured I had nothing to lose so I just started vacuuming. I thought I had to turn the end of the hose that connects to the shop-vac around (which I did so that it brought the water down to the 'bucket'. Other than that, I even went to Yahoo Answers and asked for input. The answers were - just vacuum, they didnt think there was anything to do with the vacuum to set it up for wet vac. I had removed the cloth filter used for dry vacuuming so I was ok with that. I also saw a YouTube video that said basically to remove the cloth filter. Ok .... that was not so difficult. Thank goodness too.

Shop-vac i lost book

open the top of the vacuum. remove ONLY the filter element. There should be a ball about a two inch diameter inside the cage. It's purpose is to shut off the vacuum flow when water reaches a high in the canister.
