sometimes they are stubborne,I use stranded electrical wire to send through jets, just make sure when blowing into an orfus that it comes out somewhere hope this helps
you've got a fuel system issue , most likely carb problem, if this a newer trimmer it will likely need the carburetor replaced or adjusted, also check for cracking fuel lines or signs of old fuel varnish in the tank
I had the same problem. I took it to the dumpster and used my old echo that I purchased in 1986. The Homelite was 2 years old. My sugesstion is to dump it.
if it seems low on power, remove the muffler and clean out all carbon build-up,if it has power as in full throttle, then the carb is still dirty and needs to be rebuilt
You need to disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. If you need tips on how to do this, just let me know. You may need a new carb. kit as well, but we won't know that until you first perform the first step, or if the carb. parts are more than 3 years old. If they are, then go ahead and buy the carb. kit and replace the parts.
You need to rebuild the carburetor. You will need to go to an outdoor power & equipment store of some kind to get a carburetor kit for your specific trimmer. It will come with various gaskets, (some of which you won't use), a needle valve, and a small screen that goes in the carb. Replace all old parts with new. New primer bulb is sold seperately. When you have the carb. apart, you will also need to clean the small ports with a Den Tek Brush (used for cleaning teeth). Use carb. cleaner when cleaning.
First you will have to get a carburetor kit ,it consists of diaprams and inlet needle, you then remove the two srews that hold carburetor on the engine and remove gas lines, also the throttle cable remove screws that hold ends of carburetor on under these you will find the diaphrams and needle remove these be carefull not to loose the little spring under the needle lever. !get you a can of carburetor cleaner and spray carburetor the blow it out with air you will notice little jets in carburetor that have to be clean use a wire from a bread tie to clean them out install new gaskets and diaprams in same position you took old ones off.you can also look at carburetor to see what kind it is walbor, zama, tilloson? type the name in google search and can get a diagram of carburetor if you loose your place,or just ask me.
It's starving for fuel. What is it? Sounds like the jets are plugged in the carb. or possibly water in the gas. Remove carb., disassemble, clean and put back together. You should get a rebuild kit for it first so you have new gaskets, etc. when you reassemble. It's a little more complex than I can put in words for you here.
Also empty and clean fuel tank too and start with fresh, clean fuel.
check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. if that doesn't work have the carb repaired at a service center or replaced.
Changed all major gaskets: Cylinder to crankcase, case half, exhaust & carb. Now it runns right. The carb can be adjusted and the choke is full open when warmed up as it's supposed to be.
Where is the carb adjustment?
