It looks like the whole question did not post, but Kodak has a 1 year parts and labor warranty on new cameras. Some stores like Best Buy sell protection plans that extend the warranty, plus cover accidental handling, like a cracked screen or jammed lens. If they bought that, the store may be able to look it up.
All devices including digital cameras are protected by a 1 year warranty. The green cracked line indicates a hardware problem, and since the camera is on its 6th month, it is still covered by warranty. You should take it to a Kodak authorized service center (not to the store you purchased the camera) to avail the warranty. You just need to bring the purchase receipt.
Sorry, but you don't. You either live with the fault or replace the camera. The C180 is a fine camera for the money, but it is so cheap that even the most minor repair is not cost effective. If it was a fault covered by the warranty (it won't be, unless "it just cracked") then Kodak wouldn't even bother to attempt a repair, they'd just throw the camera away and supply a replacement.
Replacing the screen will definitely cost more than buying another camera, given that the EasyShare C180 sells for around £60 (currently US$97).
screen protectors are only plastic covers that protects the screen from scratches and such.
It is not possible to buy a new LCD screen. Since the camera is now Out of Warranty a repair will cost 48 pounds with KODAK.
Is the cracked visible? If yes the only way to fet it fix is to send it in a kodak repair center please call kodak toll free 1 800 235 6325., If the camera still in manufacture warranty and doesnt have customer induced damage you can send it for in warranty repair.,but if its out of warranty the repair cost ranging from $70.00-$80.00
HI, I did some checking and you can't repair that yourself. I found this on the net for you:
Thank you for using the Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair Tool. The problem with your product appears to be something
you cannot fix yourself. We recommend that you send your product to an authorized Kodak repair center for evaluation.
The terms of your warranty are described in your User's Guide. If your product is within the warranty period specified,
you must provide a proof of purchase to receive warranty coverage. If you do not provide a proof of purchase,
you will be charged for the repair.
NOTE: Warranty coverage does not include products that have been dropped or exposed to liquid. If your product shows
evidence of this, your warranty will be void and you will be charged for repairs.
If your product is within the warranty period, having it serviced or altered in any way by a non-authorized party will void the
warranty for that repair occurrence.
I am also giving you the link to the main page for Kodak in case you want to send it to them for repair or get more information.
