Dvd code 10

Check the cord connection between the dvd player and the computer. Re boot the computer and then plug the dvd player in. Be sure the dvd player is connected to the power source.
You should "see" it on the computer as an icon if you are displaying the desk top

If not, click on the desk top Windows icon, and then click on Computer when the pop up comes on.
You should see the display of your computer and hard drives
The dvd player icon should show up under "devices with removable storage" there.
Re check the dvd is actually on.
Click on Control Panel and then "Hardware and devices" You will see your printer etc.
If the dvd player doesnt show up, try and open the dvd player to load in a disc. If the tray doesnt open, the player is defective
If it does, then the fault is in the computer "Device Manager"
Go to the computer Device Manager and you will see the device name with a red x against it.

The two possible faults are
1. The driver is missing or damaged
2. The device is defective

If you have the skilset, delete the dvd driver and install it again from the manufacturers (Toshiba?) web site
If you dont, find a geeky friend!

My Cd drive not see in my computer & Cd Icon is not show in my Computer pls help me out for this problem urgently

Hi,

You might have disabled the CD/DVD ROM in your Device Manager or in your BIOS.

In Device Manager:

1) Right click My Computer and choose Manage.
2) A window will appear. Go to Device Manager.
3) On the right side of the window, find CD/DVD and right click on it and choose enable.
4) Check if your CD/DVD drive is present already.

If you cannot find it still, try the BIOS:

1) Restart your laptop and go to your BIOS set-up
2) Look for CD/DVD drive and enable it.
3) Restart your laptop.

Hope it helps.

Thanks!

My computer no longer "sees"

hello
at end of this instruction set, see link to review more questions/answers,as your issue with CD/DVD ROM will vary .

This document applies to HP and Compaq desktop computers with Windows XP, Me, and 98. Use this document to make Windows and the CD writing software recognize the CD or DVD writer drive. Start at Step 1; do not skip to other sections until Step 1 has been completed. Step 1: Does Windows detect the CD or DVD drive? Use Device Manager to determine if Windows is recognizing the drive:
  1. In Windows XP, click Start , and right-click My Computer . In Windows 98 and Me, right-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
  2. In Windows XP, select Properties , click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button. In Windows 98 and Me, select Properties , and click the Device Manager tab.
  3. Click the plus sign (+ ) next to DVD/CD-ROM Drives (or similar) category.
  4. Do the following depending on what is listed in the DVD/CD-ROM drives category:
    • If the CD or DVD drive name is missing , the drive is not being detected by Windows. Close Device Manager and skip to the section CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows .
    • If a drive name is shown but is disabled (icon is marked with a red X, c00877300.gif ), the drive has been disabled. Right-click the drive name and select Enable . You may have to restart the computer to complete the enabling process. The drive should work correctly once it has been enabled. NOTE: If the drive cannot be enabled, a required service or driver that the drive needs is not functioning or has been disabled. Click the plus sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and troubleshoot any problems found according to any error codes in Device Manager. Resetting the BIOS may also resolve this problem.
    • If a drive name is shown but contains an alert icon (an icon marked with an alert symbol, c00877301.gif ), then use the section Using Device Manager error codes to troubleshoot the problem. You may also use the next section Disc burning software does not recognize the original drive to reset the drive configuration.
    • If the CD or DVD drive is listed as normal but your disc burning software does not recognize the drive, Device Manager shows no special icons c00877302.gif . Windows is detecting the drive but the writing software does not. Leave Device Manager open and continue with the next section Disc burning software does not recognize the original drive .

I hit buttom on the side do not open or do I go in to the menu to open.

I understand that the CD/DVD Drive is not ejecting. Are you able to view the CD/DVD Drive icon in the My Computer window? Also check if the CD/DVD Drive is listed in the Device Manager. You can uninstall the CD/DVD Drive driver from Device Manager and restart the Computer and then try ejecting it.

DVD burning

From your cryptic description, and the extremely limited details given.
Does the DVD even show up on "My Computer"?
If it is not shown...
Go to your "Device Manager" (Right click on  'My Computer', select 'Properties', click the 'Hardware' tab, click
the 'Device Manager' button. Click the "DVD/CD-ROM drives"). If there is some kind of a "Warning" icon superimposed on the 'DVD drive' icon there is your problem!
Uninstall the DRIVERS for THAT DEVICE only.
Click on the faulty devise and hit the remove button, follow the instructions given by the program.
Shutdown, restart, the device will automatically reinstall by the "Found New Hardware" program.
