NEC PetiScan First Edition and Genie Scan VM 3188 are almost same product. I find the information in a useful web site. According to the genius customer's comment, if you visit below

and select the driver for normal Genie Win 2000, it will allow your PetiScan to be used on even Win XP.
I'm not sure, you need to edit the "Genie.inf" file for your benefit or not. Anyway, I edited the last few lines;

String0="NEC"
String1="NEC"
String2="NEC Image Scanner MultiReader PetiScan"

That's all. I only translated in English to study English.
But I'm using my PetiScan on Win XP now.

If it's a USB cable, you can get that at pretty much any store.. such as Walgreens or CVS, Target, K-Mart. Good luck!

Establish first - this this scanner from 95/8 era. And are you looking for an XP/2000 driver/ Then stop lookng you wont. The older scanners as a general rule do not work on the XP system.
