Make sure that the top of the waste water pipe is at the correct height for the machine, typically around 30-34 inches from the floor (see your installation instructions). If it is any lower then it will start a siphoning action as soon as the water reaches the same level in the machine and never actually fill up and hence the cycle will not start. If the machine detects that insufficient water has entered the machine within a given time, typically 8 minutes, then if flags an error to the on board controller. If the error persists after the waste pipe height is corrected then check out the pressure switch for correct operation as if this is not triggered then the cycle will also not start or will halt almost immediately.

Also try a power disconnect overnight to do a power reset of the control board.

If the cold water supply is slow or not entering the tub at all, the washer will stop ahead of the rinse cycle while waiting for the tub to fill. This can be caused by a clogged water inlet valve, the main water supply valve being partially closed, or low water supply pressure from the home.

If this is the machine with just a knob for the wash cycles, and one button to start the wash cycle, you will have to replace the timer. There is no reset that I know of.

As soon as you turn on power it starts to fill

It will look to the wash tank float to determine the water level and temperature. If the machine is empty, it will fill first. before letting a cycle start.

Washing machine agitates at beginning of cycle without filling

Chances are either:1) the water pressure switch has failed or 2) the hose that connects to the air bell has debris in it and it will not allow the switch to reset
