I did something wrong.....

Windex is not the best cleaner. Bed and Bath Beyond has a very good NON-Streak class cleaner that I tell my customers to use. The best solution is NOT to Spray directly onto the TV Screen. Remember the glass is only delivering the picture from an RGB projection unit sitting inside the enclosure. It is not the electronic projector and the screen is separate. It can be replaced if damaged; however I believe it is only streaked and needs proper cleansing. If you get the new cleaner, spray the solution onto a soft cloth and wipe the exterior screen. Promptly wipe it dry and if you need to do this a few times, eventually you will get the glass clear and enjoy the show.

Fix screen got wet

These screens do not like water or chemical cleaners. I would try rubbing a soft damp cloth on a small section then dry it quickly gently with a soft dry cloth. If you see an improvement, clean the rest of the screen that way slowly a section at a time. Thats how I cleaned my Samsung Projection TV screen, I spent 30 min or so doing it but it was not very dirty.
Good Luck :)

Son sprayed cleaner on tv.

I have not a clue what to tell you, but doubt the cleaner is the cause of this. In any case the TV is so old you will not be able to get parts.

It looks like pledge dust cleaner got into my screen

I doubt the model listed will sit on a shelf--but if it does the model listed has at least 2 and maybe 3 screens--outer one is clear (anti-glare and protector screen) .

If something got between the screens it is going to require entire front screen with the frame be removed and screens taken apart--lots of pitfalls doing that--

If it is that model listed here let me know--I know a site with full service manuals for most of these sets for free--show exploded views and how to take screen out and apart.

Just had air intake hose replaced. now the car is throbbing like a V8 in all gears, with quite sluggish acceleration. any ideas?

Hope this helps you:
First of all I'd suggest cleaning the MAS. (Mass Air Flow Sensor) This is a sensor located in the flex air intake hose.
Now a word of CAUTION! This is a delicate sensor. It has fine wires inside, picture a screen on your house windows and 1 or 2 fine wire sensors. DO NOT clean these sensors with brake cleaner, carb cleaner or alcohol!
You can pick up some electrical contact cleaner which is suitable for this job at a local auto parts store. Spray the wire area well and allow it to air dry before you re-assemble it. Air dry is another important thing to remember, you really don't want to touch the inside of the sensor!

While you have the air intake hose off, take some carb cleaner and soak the throttle plate. Let it sit a bit and then open the throttle plate and wipe out the disolved residue with a clean shop rag. Using the rag, spray some carb cleaner on it and finish wiping the throttle plate and adjoining area till it's clean. Of course you do the above with the engine off!

These are some very inexpensive fixes that should be done every couple years depending on the mileage you put on. They will cure a lot of drivability problems...and possibly the problems you have

Engine started reving and will not stop, i can't get it to idle even with brakes

yes there is and idle vacuum control on this as i have just fixed mine i was going to replace i but it wasnt cheap,i took it off and sprayed it with brake cleaner as it has a rotating piston inside ,i first tapped it with a screw driver while it was running and it slowed the idle down ,then it got cleaned do not lubricate this as it operates dry, it sits on the right hand side of the air cleaner near the back of it looking from under the hood hope this helps.

The rubber on the speaker surrounds

I have removed all te rubbercoating by using a degrease liquid the they use normaly in the kitchen to clean the oven : It's perfect now .. a clean plastic surface ... just like new !!!
Be careful with other agresive cleaning products , otherwise you demage the plastic surface below the rubber coating .
Try it out it works perfect .

2 month old Phillips portable DVD player can't get past loading

Clean the laser lens gently with a foam cleaner using a cotton swab & leave to dry.

Also, with the power off, gently push the laser lenscarriage all the way outwards from the centre. There may be debris on the tracks.

MARKS ON SCREEN

there are two screens..the lenticular..and the fresnal...you can try to pull them apart(very fragile!) and clean them but you must be careful not leave any water or moister between them(blowdry or wipe completely dry after cleaning with damp cloth) do not rub too hard...just spray warm water on the rag and carefully wipe clean ...then dry. Putting the screens back together isn't too tricky but let me stress..these screens cannot be bent or they will break...pull them off with two people(one on each side)..also you will have to take the front cover off because the screens are literally clamped down to the front cover.....good luck...let me know if you need futher assistance..........mike
