Dlundmark ain't kidding. The advisory for this problem includes your model (A75), is totally free, with free shipping, and they don't even care if you bought the camera used many years ago. Call 1-800-OK-CANON right now! (if in US and Canada, all others visit Canon's website for your country). You'll have the camera back good as new in a couple weeks.

If the rest of the camera, the menus are okay, then you have a ccd problem. Canon will fix this for free and pay shipping both ways in the USA.
Call the 800 number for support/repair at the following Internet page:

I cant get it to work on full screen

I am having this same problem as this one above (62HM95). The issue I'm having is that it will also not work full screen. I selected the 'Split' option on the remote and the picture on the left is fine... absolutely clean and perfect, with audio. The picture on the right is completely distorted in very strange colors (mostly constant variations of purple), with audio as well. You should note, that the same video information was feed into different imputes to select for the split. In other words, I feed the cable stream into the TV using the component video (Y B R) as well as the coaxial cable and selected both options for the purposes of displaying the same information side-by-side. On screen I selected video option four (4 for color stream HD) and option (0 for cable/antenna). If I highlight either side and select one of them (4 or 0) the screen goes full screen and I see nothing but one solid color of purple. I've researched the purple and they call it 'Electric Purple'. That is all I see... just the solid purple, with the audio. What I have also noticed is that, If toggle between imputes while in the full screen option and come back to either option (4 or 0) the image plays/appears OK for about 2 seconds then goes back to solid purple. I just can't understand why this is happening especially when the on-screen menu displays perfectly fine. I cannot enjoy this TV by only watching half of it in split mode. Besides the multiple replacement bulbs I've had to buy I've completely had it with this TV

Too much purple in sony bravia

Try to examine the screen with the color turned off---is it a uniform color other than gray or black and white?

A photo posted somewhere with a link showing what it looks like might be helpful.

Purple Screen

If it is only 2 months old, then you still have warranty.
A purple lcd, viewfinder and photo is a 100% CCD failure.
If out of warranty, not worth the repair.

My SE G502 camera be strange..the screen colors are being green and purple..and separate to be 2 small screen..but my camera's lens is in good condition..

Here are a few things to try:
1. Verify that the camera is in good condition. Here's How: Take a photo and transfer it to PC (using USB or BT). Check if the picture is good. If not, you know the culprit is your camera.
2. If the picture looks good on PC, your G502's screen is bust and you should get it fixed under warranty.

Pictures have a purple hue to them Cyber-Shot DSC-P52

I suspect that the color is fine in the screen, if that’s true I would check the “White Balance.” This control is use to compensate for different light sources. The electronics will respond different for sunny or cloudy days and for incandescent or fluorescent lamps. I suspect that it was taken out of AUTO mode. I find that AUTO works well for most people in most situations.
Select photo or movie mode press menu, select WB, select AUTO.

Purple Pictures

This is a CCD sensor problem and should be replaced. Try to have it done free of charge by Sony even though your camera is an old model because CCD sensor should last 10 years +.
