Hello,
Look for "Acer eRecovery Management" in your start menu.
That will help .. Thanks
SOURCE: I need to restore factory default setting for acer aspire 5920.
depending on the age and model, most acers come with a self-branded "recovery CD" creation program. I'm not sure why you need to do the restore, but assuming the computer will still boot, you need to find that program and have a couple cd's or dvd's handy and step through the prompts to create the cd's. Once you do, you need to restart the computer and boot it up with that CD you just created and step through the process. Make sure all your stuff is backed up first.

Right after you press the start (power on) button for the notebook, tap the F9 key about once every second (do NOT hold the button down, as this will cause the machine to think there is a problem with the keyboard, and generate a 303 KEYBOARD ERRER) to take you into the system repair subroutine. There should be an option for "Factory Restore", however, you'll may need to dig a little to find it. Once you select the factory restore option and the process begins, DO NOT interrupt the restore process at ANY time!!! (also, be sure the notebook is plugged in to an AC outlet, as battery power may not be sufficient for this task, and the restore process goes fast on AC power anyway.
When you first enter the printer menus from the operator panel, you may notice an asterisk (*)
next to a value in the menus. This asterisk indicates the factory default setting. These settings
are the original printer settings. (Factory defaults may vary for different countries.)
When you select a new setting from the operator panel, the Saved message appears. When
the Saved message disappears, an asterisk appears next to the setting to identify it as the
current user default setting. These settings are active until new ones are stored or the factory
defaults are restored.
To restore the original printer factory default settings:
1 Make sure the printer is on and the Ready message appears.
2 Press Menu until you see Utilities Menu, and then press Select.
3 Press Menu until you see Factory Defaults, and then press Select.
4 Restore appears on the second line of the display.
5 Press Select.
The message Restoring Factory Defaults appears followed by the Ready
message.
When you select Restore:
• No other button actions are available on the operator panel while Restoring
Factory Defaults appears.....

You may need to restore your Acer computer to its factory defaults if a virus damages operating files or if the system begins acting erratically for unknown reasons.
Restoring an Acer to factory defaults returns the computer to its original state when first purchased.
Click on the Start menu.
Then, select all programs, Acer Empowering Technology and Acer eRecovery Management.
If this is the first time you have opened the program it will prompt you to set up a password and create a backup CD.
Click the Restore button and select the option that reads "Restore system to factory defaults".
Wait for the computer to finish the restore process and reboot.
Restoring for the Boot Screen
If your computer will not boot up properly, you can attempt to reach the restore option by pressing the Alt button and the F10 button at the same time.
When the eRecovery menu appears, choose "restore system to factory defaults".
Wait for the recovery process to complete and the computer to restart.
Hope this helps
