My tv will not turn on. It appears to be in some kind of standby mode. I am not getting any picture when I turn on the tv. It sounds like it is going on, but nothing happens. There is a red blinking light that appears. It blinks 2 times then pause, then 2 times, pause. I have tried unplugging it for days and nothing has happened. Can you help?
This is the most common death mode for TV's. The high voltage is acting up. You set is not quite 10 years old right? Can be fixed, but involves replacing the Flyback transformer which is not cheap. It is a toss-up as to whether it is worth putting the $200 or so it will cost to fix into a set that has limited expected lifetime.
