Philips Magnovox Rear Proj. TV wont keep vertical/horizontal hold

Hello clifftonian,

I would suggest checking the HV trippler block and the voltage output from the IHVT (Integrated High Voltage Transformer), and comparing them against the schematic diagram. In addition to this after solving your HV problem I would suggest doing a complete convergence adjustment, both static and dynamic. Just don't go replacing parts because that approach does more harm then good. Troubleshoot the problem and find out what other parts are marginal and replace them all. Your stepdad is correct with a good place to start.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No Picture after it's been on a while. Audio OK.

ok you have a vert sweep problem and yes its probably connected to in a way to the "tap and fix" problem! Seems to be n intermittant connection on the vertical out put Ic or maybe even on the rgb convergence ic?? The total loss of sweep though tells me that theres two differant problems! Maybe and intemittant connection on the vert output Ic as well as bad connections on the convergence ic??.
