sounds like you have it apart and not so sure about reassembly. If these are drum brakes try looking at the drum brake change videos on Youtube, ericthecarguy (ETCG) is a good one. Drum brakes are all basically similar with the main difference usually around self adjusters.
Remove the caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper. Replace brake pads as necessary. Special tool is required to retract caliper piston to fit over new pads. (see picture below) Retract piston in caliper using special tool to rotate clockwise and make sure the notch in the piston is aligned properly so the tab on the inner pad will fit in properly. Reinstall caliper assembly and caliper mounting bolts.
Go to www.autozone.com register yourself and your vehicle then look around the site until you locate repair guide section, follow the instructions. I'd advise printing every page of instruction and read it first.
One piece of advice - if it's your first time for anything on the vehicle and there's another identicle assembly, take only one (1) apart so you have a sample (hopefully correctly assembled) to refer to.

The back brakes on my Honda Accord are disc brakes. After removing the brake cylinder assembly you will see the brake cylinder piston end has a slot in it. The short pin on the back side of the inner brake pad fits into this slot, but also it is used to 'Turn' (clock-wise) the piston back into the cylinder so you fit the assembly back over the new 'thicker' pads. You can not 'press' this piston back into the cylinder.
there should be three or four large nuts on the inside of the drum. now these nuts are on realy good so it takes a lot of force to get it off if you have trouble getting it off you should get an extender to help with the force. Now with the break fluid going every were it could be cause you broke the metal tube.that is easy to replace. just follow it up and undo it.
