If it is a glass screen there is nothing you can do to it. First the tube is not available and second too costly if it was. Third the only chance is a used tube from a junked out tv at a repair shop and that will cost too but not as much. But seeing that it is a CTC 179 and assuming the long number is the serial number, it will be hard to find. If that is not the serial number then I'm sorry for I am completely wrong! If it is a lcd tv then the screen cost usually about three quarters the price of the set. Sorry about your problem. Hope this helps At this point I am assuming from deductions that it is a LCD.
