Pctv 73e does not work on my vista os (when computer is turned off and on again, I get failed to start preview message) yet on xp os no problems can restart computer and stick still works. with vista os i have to reinstall program each time i turn my computer on to get it to work

I have an original cd from pinnacle pctv in my notebook, but don't
have my serial-number any more (on the cover of cd). the cover got lost.

update the driver for Vista environment

The part where it looks like your xp stuff and vista stuff switch drives is normal. Only the Operating System associates the hard drives by letters this does not mean your hard drive files are switching. This happens because D: drive is Root of Vista OS and Root of any OS in windows gets the C: drive lettering.

dwwin.exe, drwtsn.exe dll is the "Microsoft Application Error Reporting" tool.

I think the message means that something is crashing during system shutdown. When the crash occurs the OS launches dwwin.exe to report the error, however the windows operating system is shutting down and so the application can't launch make the system lockup or hang.

Your problem isn't with dwwin.exe, you need to find out what is actually crashing at shutdown.

If you can`t find out what it is, try going to Administrative Tools/Services and disable the “Error Reporting Service”. You don`t want that running anyway.

Also right click My Computer/Properties/Advanced/Error Reporting
Put a check at both
Disable Error Reporting
But notify me when critical errors occur

Then, if that was the cause and the message stops, we`ll have to try to identify the cause.

contact pinnacle as it is a driver conflict and download uniblue driver scanner from http://www.liutilities.com/products/driverscanner/

first unistall the software. and then remove the hardware device and re insert the slot again. after that install the software. If any other doubt please come to gmail chat at [email protected]

PLACA DE PCTV ENCORE....?
Meu PC e windows xp...Ele é da microboard...., vem com 1gb 160Hd placa de pctv, AMD... Mas desde quando liguei meu PC pela primeira vez com o vista, não funciona a placa de pctv, depois que eu formatei, e instalei o xp, continuou não funcionando...já tentei de tdo, e naum sei mas o que fazer....
Tenho o programa ENLTV, que veio junto com a placa de pctv que é da ENCORE... quando tenho abrir este programa aparece um erro assim: " Fail to Initialize hardware!ErrorCode#E0601009 "
E no gerenciador de dispositivos, o driver " Controlador de Multimídia " com um ponto amarelo de exclamação..! Tento atualizar o drive com os cds que vieram junto com meu PC, mas nao adianta, já desistalei o drive, e reiniciei o PC, o drive foi reconhecido novamente, mas nao sumio o ponto de exclamação...

To my regret,they are right. The Pinnacle pctv pro card doesn't work under the Win XP OS. The real issue here - that this is a known problem for at least 3 years and they did nothing to solve it !!!
