It won't harvest ice on its own unless it detects a temperature of 10 degrees. so make it on 2 degree.

Samsung RM255LABP/XAA freezer only gets to 27 degrees, won't harvest ice. Fridge and lower freezer work fine. After pressing the ice maker reset button, I hear a ding don sound coming from the control...

It won't harvest ice on its own unless it detects a temperature of 10 degrees. The ding ding sound is the control letting you know that the ice maker is functioning fine. Remove the evaporator cover in the freezer and make sure the coil isn't frozen over and the fan isn't restricted from turning. Check the door gasket is getting a good seal. If that's all good replace the sensor on the ceiling of the freezer.

I have a Samsung RF268ABRS Unit all food in bottom freezer thawed. Unit is running and ref is cool. I notice that the fan dosent seem to blow. Closed freezer up and its cold, but no air moving. How do...

I had a similar problem. my samsung freezer would only cool to 20 degrees, which also resulted in the freezer ice maker not functioning. (fridge door ice maker still worked) If you hold the power freeze and power cool buttons down together for 8 seconds it will a diagnostic. found the answers on http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=8206.0 , as too what the codes meant. Mine was throwing a freezer fan code error. ordered one online $30 and replaced it. seems to be working. TIP -The fan is located behing the rear panel in the freezer. I had two fans. The regular looking one is the freezer fan, the squirrel cage fan feeds the fridge ice maker. Also the new fan motors don't come with blades, just pull the blades off the old one and put it on the new motor. Don't push it on too far, make sure there is enough clearance so it spins freely.

Samsung SRS583HDP fridge not cooling. Side by side

Most likely the thermostat in the fridge, especially if it read 5 degrees until you reset it. Possibly the compressor in the fridge side as this fridge has twin cooling, or the circulating fan in the back of the fridge is frozen, which is a common problem as well.
Easiest things to try is to see if the fan is frozen and check if the fridge cooling is actually working. Turn off the fridge, remove the shelves, remove the 4 screws that hold in the bottom cover and the 2 screws that hold the water tank in. Cover should then come out a few inches. Reach behind and unplug the 2 plugs and pull out the cover. If the cover doesnt come out easily it may be glued to the back of the fridge by ice. Leave for a couple of hours and gently prize it off. Check for ice around the fan and that the fan spins freely. You could try sitting the cover inside the fridge, plug it in turn it back on for a few minutes (be careful) and then open the door and quickly look / listen to see if the fan is still spinning (it stops when you open the door). Leave the fridge off for a while until the ice disappears off the coils. Turn back on for half an hour. The coils should be icy again. Anything else call Samsung. If the deal in your country is the same as mine the fridge has a 2 year warranty but in the fine print the sealed compressor unit has five years on parts only. You could get the unit replaced for labour costs only. Check your warranty card.

Amana side-by-side fridge freezer only cold at the bottom

yes the evap fan in the frezer should be running when the compressor is running[it may not for a minute or so as it starts up.Amana's are good for the connectors at the evap fan motor comming apart.the connectors are white and will look like its together but when you pull it will come apart.i would always cut the connector out and use a wire nut so wont happen again.if any other questions please email thru FixYa and i will be glad to help. SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)
