Eureka Part Number: 61110B (Replaces 61110, 61110A)
And the roller i think: Genuine Eureka Brush roller part number 61250-3 for Eureka The Boss/Smart vac/smartvac ultra 4800 series vacuums including models 4870 and 4880
Hope this helps you.

My Eureka The boss Smartvac Model #4870 roller brush won't turn even on the highest setting and the belt smells hot. we took the belt off. How can you tell if it needs replaced?

Just by what you explained I can tell that it needs to be replaced. The belt doesn't have to be broken to need replacing, if it is stretched and worn then it will slip on the motor shaft and not turn the brush roll and get hot. Here is a link to the belts you need and the manual which has instructions:

I have a Eureka 'The Boss Smart Vac'. The beater

Yes, you need to replace the belt. You should actually change this belt every year. Here is a link to the belt you need and the manual which has instructions:

Eureka the Boss SmartVac just turned off and won't turn on

Make sure it is not the electrical outlet that has tripped. If not then you basically have 3 choices. Cord, switch, motor. A service tech. should be able to diagnose.

Any belts that can sub. for the RR

Applied the electrical tape to the motor shaft as suggested by another poster. The tape ripped off, but the sticky residue left provides enough friction to grab the belt and cause the beter brush to turn correctly. Thanks

Tear in Eureka Upright "The Boss" 4870
Posted by kdunnett on Jun 07, 2008
I have a tear in the hose of an upright Eureka "The Boss" 4870 vacuum. I cannot find how to release the parts I need to get the hose out and put in a new hose (which I already have) I've searched the Eureka site and the owner's manual - nothing about how to replace the hose itself. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Eureka 431A Optima Bagless Upright Vacuum. In answer to your question, the owner’s manual may or may not give an example to install the hose only, but on most vacuums the hose sometimes will screw in to the hose cuff on both ends unless if it is a hose assm then it will then twist and turn. Check with the
Eureka website and have them send out a schematic and owner’s manual for you so that you can install your hose properly. Sometimes you have to place hose glue on the end of each side in order for the hose to screw in properly. the website address will be listed below and they certainly should supply you with the owners’ manual and maybe a schematic of the parts breakdown that also may help. If not; check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Euerka Smart Boss upright

Price of Belt: $ 7.49 from www3.sears.com
Part No. 61110A

Price of Bag: $7.99 for a pack of 3.
Part No. 61115A or Eureka Bag Type RR

Estimated Repair Cost: $75-90 pending parts and labor rates

The likely possibility is that the belt was installed wrong. Without seeing the unit myself, I cannot say if the pulleys are mis-aligned. I will get back to you if I find any new information.
