First, 3 beeps means that the unit was in the freeze cycle too long and the 60 minutes back up timer kicked in and took over.
Now, for the water flow/ head pressure water cooled control.
You set the water flow for what ever it takes to achieve a head (High Side) pressure of 270 psi. the gallons per minute are of no matter. It's the pressure that you want to achieve and maintain.
If you fix the head pressure problem, the beeps should go away.
If you don't have a gage set, then measure the temp of the exiting water from the condenser. It should be in the 104 to 115 degree range. Any lower or higher, and the unit will not run like it was designed to do.
Hope this knocks it out for you.

When the compressorshuts off it beeps once is this normal

If you are turning off power, yes this is normal. If it beeps at the end of a cycle, this is not normal. One beeps means the evap is getting too hot. May have hot water entering the unit, or several other issues. May need a tech to check the unit out.

Unit beeps twice all the time

Two beeps indicate the unit exceeded its harvest time two or three times in a row and has locked out. You need a service tech because the problem is going to be a DIY nightmare. Could be a water solenoid leaking by, low charge problem, bad float switch, or bad headmaster valve on a remote system with a cold ambient/outdoor temperature. Troubleshooting these beasts is something for a qualified tech in person. To reset the beeping you actually have to reach in to the control box while the unit has power and is turned on and press a reset button on the board that is not marked. I do it all of the time and hate it every time so I would not recommend it to someone with no experience.

Unit makes ice, full evaporator,is very slow, maybe 45 mins. from harvest to harvest. Why so slow?

Possible causes are many
Things to check
  • If air cooled, is the condenser coil clean and is the condenser fan running when in ice production ? Is the area extremely hot where the ice machine is located? If water cooled, is there adequate water pressure and is the water regulating valve set properly?
  • When the system switch is in the off position is there any water running ( if so the inlet water valve may be stuck open)
  • When in ice production, is the small tube that feeds from the hot gas solenoid hot? This tube comes from a valve at the back of the unit and feeds over the compressor and into a tee near the insulated Tx valve. This line should be hot during harvest and cool shortly after harvest.
  • Has the float switch assembly been cleaned. this is a cylindrical unit beside the water pump,It can get plugged with minerals and not initiate harvest
  • The system may have a refrigerant charge problem (short) or the compressor may be weak, at which point diagnosis would need to be done by a refrigeration tech
Hope this helps

I hooked a used unit up turned it on and got 3 beep any answers

this indicates that the backup freeze timer terminated the freeze cycle. Stayed in freeze cycle 60 minutes. Causes can be: stuck float switch, water valve leaking incoming water, and the more extreme can be hot gas valve leaking, txv not feed properly, low refrigerant charge, or bad compressor. Usually one of the first 2 items are the root cause.

I have model 630 mwf water cooled keeps beeping twice i reset clean machine water well clean float will cycle a few times and then beep again what should i do next

Hi, I have worked on these machines many times, air and water cooled. Do you have a code chart on a panel to tell you what the 2 beeps are on the control board? Do you have the original troubleshooting manual? This would be of a lot of help. This KM900 is a good size ice machine. I would pick up a gallon of nickle safe ice machine cleaner at a refrigeration parts house, read the instructions and run the machine through the cleaning cycle again. Hand clean everything you can get to again, this is the biggest problem I find on water cooled units. The nickel safe is an excellent cleaner made for this problem. Do you have a water softener for the inlet water on this machine? If not I would recommend having one installed. This will cut down on a lot of problems you will have in the future. Try this and get back to me and let me know. In the mean time I will research this ice machine to see what I can come up with.

Beeping 3 times every 3 seconds

The 3 beeps indicates that the unit was in the freeze cycle for 60 minutes. Causes: 1.) Water valve leaking, allowing water to continually enter the system. 2.) Float switch stuck, sending false signal to board. This indicates ice not being produced. 3,.) Low freon level causing long freeze cycle. 4.) Hot gas valve leaking thru causing warmer than normal evap plates=low production. 5.) Expansion Valve not feeding freon properly to evap plates.
Items 1 and 2 are the most common. Number 3 possible due to freon leak in the system. Number 4 and 5 are usually a very rare occurance.
Hope this helps ya.

COMPRESSOR WILL FREEZE A CYCLE OR 2 THEN STOP WORKING

a symptom of low refrigerrant is that the evaporator coil will develop a small very cold area but wont cool the entire surface .. that cold area can ice up and block air flow .. the result can be an overworked compressor with little or no cooling ... other things that can cause the same trouble
1. bad or blocked air flow on the external coils or condenser fan ..
2. a leak in the door seal will allow moisture that can cause icing

if there is icing then you can turn it off with the door open until the ice melts .. then start over ..

Beeps 3 times when turned on

3 beeps means the machine has ran two 1 hour cycles back to back to make ice an average timeframe for ice making is 25-30 min. Could be several issues, float switch dirty, water valve leaking by, dirty spray tubes, dirty evap., then go to refrigeration Expansion valve, compressor, charge, Hot gas valve leaking by,,,,,

Kenmore upright freezer

You should check the drain hose inside underneath the freezer. This is done at the back down below. Mine was looped too high and water could not get out. I took the loop off that was holding the hose and now water can drain away without freezing. You can pour warm water down the drain hole to melt the ice in the tube if you remove the grate covering it inside the freezer. I have read that several Kenmore upright freezer
owners have the same problem. I was astonished that this was the problem and I had put up with it for too long, defrosting the freezer every 2-3 months!.Give it a try!
