I have HP 1200 psc I have a document that will not delete therefore I cannot print anything at all I have tried switching off everything - no luck - can you help?

what is the status of print job in the queue? whether it is showing printing or no status in the windows.
if the status is printing you delete all the print jobs and switch off and on .then try print something. if no status is there in the windows then you check whether the printer is off line .try make it online by right click on the printer icon then click on the use printer online.

I think the printer needs to be refreshed, so my advice is to refresh the printer from your system, or disconnect the printer and re-power it.

hmm..unplug the printer from computer and power printer down. that should clear the printer memory. then plug back into computer, before turning printer power back on. see how that helps.

You need to go ahead and simply refresh a service known as "Print Spooler"

here's how you do it..
for Windows XP:
>> click on start
>> click on run
>> type in " services.msc " and hit enter
You will see a list of service names alphabetically arranged on the right hand side..
From there look for the service name "print spooler"
>> right click on it
>> click on stop
wait for 10 secs
>> right click on it again
>> click on start..
>> restart the computer..
>> you will find your document deleted :)

You must configure first your printing preferences or download a tool for the printer

Have you tried installing the HP Print Diagnostic Utility?
This utility fixes some of the basic issues with the printer /computer.
Download/Install and follow the onscreen instructions to run the utility and restart the computer when prompted.

It strabge... Anyway u just clean your print heads and nozzles... it shuld make it fine... or just replace ur catridge...

I had the same problem. Click Start, Windows Photo Gallery, from that screen, you can select import from scanner. The 1200 series printer should be a choice to select. You are then able to preview the image or document, then press scan. I found this out through the HP support website.
