i had two c640 with the same problem..
there is just one solution..
you have to replace an ic chip..
this one is getting to hot.
it's the 45 chip.
underneath the motherboard.
yep, you have to take your lap apart
it's a maxim chip..
i did that , replaced the chip with a defect c610 maxim chip and now the 2 c640's are in the air for mionhs now..

Sounds like a motherboard port. remove the battery and try to power it on again with the AC adapter. If same issue, try another AC adapter, try removing the hard disk and DVD drive if available, and test it again.. If no luck, request for a motherboard replacement if within warranty, otherwise, you will have to contact their sales support to purchase a replacement board
This happens when set you PC on Safeboot Option.
Follow the steps mentioned below to boot in normal mode.
1: Once you are in the Safe Mode, Click on Start and then Click on Run.
2: Type msconfig (you will see system configuration utility).
3: Click on Boot.ini tab and check for the Boot Options.
4: You will see Safe boot options check.
5: Uncheck it then click on apply and then then ok.
6: Now your computer will boot in Normal mode.
Once you reach the desktop you will again see the system configuration utility screen. Just check the option don
