My Whirlpool Cabrio washer keeps reading LD and won't restart or nothing. It has water in the tub. I tried unplugging it and starting over, but it won't do anyhying.
This is another possible solution, more than likely most people will expierience clogs. I had the same problem today, upon removing the drain pump I noticed one of the dark blue wires was off of the connector that plugs into the pump, seems these are held in place by a "splice connector", and is a simple fix, after you unplug it from the drain pump take the connector and pull from the front and rear to open the splice jaws, re insert the wire and push back together. Plug it back into the pump, and that's it!
LD flashes when the water level does not change after the drain pump is on. Check the following:
Is it oversudsed?
Is the drain pump clogged?
Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
Is the drain hose installed properly?
Is the drain hose height greater than 96"?
Press PAUSE/CANCEL to clear display.
Tape the washer lid closed. Carefully lay the washer on its front panel. To remove the drain pump loosen the clamps and pull the inlet and outlet drain hoses off the pump.Note that there is a tab on the outlet connector that fits into a slot in the hose.Remove the three 5/16˝ hex-head screws from the drain pump and remove the pump from the tub.

SOURCE: LD is on my display-nothing will clear it and washer doesnt drain
the ld code means a long drain, what you probably have is something blocking the drain pump.
you can get to the drain pump from the back of the unit and it will be the pump on the left as you face the back.
you will need to remove the hose going into the pump and be ready for water to come out. sorry but you need to check inside the hose as there will be something blocking it. like a coin or some lint or a small sock.
when you get the item out of the hose then it should work again. you do not need to reset the control. once it knows the unit is draining properly it will be ok.

I checked the hose and it's not kinked or clogged, the height is fine, it did not oversuds, and cleared the display and it came up again. How do I check the pump?????
Keep getting the LD error as well as the unit getting stuck in a cycle, will not drain or spin. Tried unplugging the unit but keep getting the same result.

My Whirlpool Cabrio has a plugged drain pipe/drain pump...there is a sock inside tub (I can see it floating around)- between the plastic outer layer and metal inner. Can I fix it by going through the top to the tub or any other suggestions? Thank you
