I have the new iPhone 3GS and have the same problem. My computer recognises the camera but shuts down every time it tries to then recognise the phone. It did work briefly but as soon as I registered my phone I had the problem. So I don't think lack of power is an issue. When the blue screen appearsI see a message at the bottle "PHYSICAL MEMORY DUMP". I'd love a simple solution as I dont really want to email 60 odd photos and i'd like to keep them for caller ID etc
Hi I had the same problem, for a few days the new Iphone worked fine then started to appear as digital picture divice then just shut my Laptop down as soon as i plugged it in. I contacted Apple who were very helpfull and sent me 4 mails with advice. The one that worked for me was ...........
If you have anything running on your pc/Laptop with Logitech driver it conflicts with the apple drivers. I had a built in webcam on Laptop and when I typed Logitech in the search on start menu found it was run by that driver. I uninstalled it and deleted all the relavent files plugged Iphone in and no more problems except I now dont have a webcam but I thought small price to pay.
I hope this Helps
Best wishes
Andy
Shut off windows system restore.
Uninstall any software you installed for your iPhone. (Keep it unplugged from your system, for now).
Download www.ccleaner.com/ once downloaded, install it and run the program. Restart your system when finished. Check windows for updates. Restart your system if updates were installed.
Re-install the software for your iPhone. Or you can download a verity of compatible software;
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Pc+compatible+Software+for+iPhones+&btnG=Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
Install the software than connect your iPhone to your system.
Once everything seems fine turn windows system restore back on and create a restore point. Everything should be OK.
Cheers!
