SOURCE: Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e09'

When putting files up on your hosted site (or on your own server), make sure the file and the directory have the proper writes to Read/Write/Create. A special file called the .LDB file must be created and if it can't a ReadOnly status could be issued. It's a file that contains the names of the users currently accessing the MDB file. It stands for Lock Database.

If you are running on Windows add these attributes, if it's linux (not sure why you'd use MDB on a LINUX box, but it would be chmod +777.

Damaged mdb 2010 file gives strange error message

First one apply short guide, second make use of http://www.mdb.openfiletool.com/ MDB Open File Tool
· Launch the Microsoft Access application, but do not try to open the corrupted MDB file.· Go to "Tools" in the top menu bar, expand the "Database Utilities" submenu and select the "Compact and Repair Database" option if you are using Access 2002 or 2003. If you are using Access 2007 or 2010, you can find the "Compact and Repair Database" option by clicking the Microsoft Office button and going to the "Manage" menu.· Highlight the MDB file that you want to restore and click the "Compact" button.· Enter a name for a new database file, which will contain the restored data from the damaged MDB file.· Navigate to the location on your hard drive where you want to save the restored version of the file.· Click the "Save" button. Access will now compact and repair the MDB file and save a restored version in the location you selected.

Add a excel format in tally

Sir,

What to Export ?
Tally has a facility to export its data to other applications like spreadsheets, word processing software and other database software. Export of data is provided mainly for summaries and statement reports like Trial Balance, Stock Summary, etc. You can export it to another company using Tally that will import it directly.

How to Export?
You can export all reports and statements. For this a separate export button is provided in right hand button bar. To do this go to any report e.g. day book you to export or any statement e.g. balance sheet. You would see export button on top right hand side on button bar. Press it and a screen would pop up with export related options.

The first option is format of data to be exported namely ASCII, HTML, SDF, and XML. Which ever application you are importing this data in would decide in which format you should export the data.
For statements like balance sheets and trial balance which we use to send and import file in word and excel etc. HTML format is good. We need minimum formatting in this format while using it in MS Word and MS Excel.
certain applications accept continuous data where we have defined field length. Then ASCII format is better.
For application which accept SDF and XML format these formats can be chosen.

Give a file name and the exported file is saved in the parent Tally directory on your computer. You can now use that file to import its contents into another program, send it as it is (say if it is HTML file) to a colleague or view it using a browser.

Thanks
Good Luck

Call/Link a Report from another access 2007

Access can only work with one database at a time.
You'll need to either export the data you need and import it into your current database or save it in an external format like Excel or CSV file that you can access.

Same as above really

Hi,
I have fixed my problem. I realised that the Microsoft Access Database DSN did not include the *.accdb driver. I deleted the existing DSN and created a new one. This allowed me to select the ODBC driver that worked for both file types.

I cameto realise that I was only having this problem on machines that have been upgraded to excel 2007 and not on machines with full virgin installations. On install both try to create the appropriate DSN but one with the same name already exists on the machines being upgraded and the creation fails.

I hope this helps others.

Getting "Unspecified Error" While Opening an Excel File by using OLEDB Connection. I am Using Follwing Code to Open the Excel File. string connectionString = @"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data...

Hello, you are probably using an incorrect connection string.

Usually you can use a datasource (such as Access Database) directly in an excel document. If that is what you are trying to accomplish here check out the following sites:
Plug into your data Connecting Excel to an Access database Office Blogs
OR:
Connect an Access database to your workbook

If you are writing software application, from within Visual Studio (depending on the version) go to the left-hand side bar to "Server Explorer" -> "Add Data Connection" -> Click on the "Change" button of the Data Source part and select the appropriate Access Data Source -> Click the "Advanced" button.

After that, you will see in the bottom textbox, the appropriate connection string for the JET.OLEDB Connection Provider.

This is shown in the image below:

https://www.connectionstrings.com/microsoft-jet-ole-db-4-0
For usage of an oledb connection object you can find info here --> https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.oledb.oledbconnection(v=vs.110).aspx

MS EXCEL 2000 corrupted workbooks/worksheets

it sounds like you are going over the limits of the program these are the specs. I would recommend dividing up the data if you can. or moving it to a database that can act like excel and hold more data.
