Hi,

If you're referring to a paper size slide for presentation, all you need is just place it under a white paper then scan as usual.

But if you're referring to a 35mm slide, you may want to refer to this step-by-step guide that I got from HP site on this link. Page 13 (page 18 on pdf).

7600i not scanning full slide?

It's possible that the scanner is not correctly detecting the slide frame size or that the slide is not positioned correctly on the scanner bed. Here are some things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the slide holder: Make sure that the slide holder is properly aligned with the scanner bed and that it's not blocking the edges of the slide.
  2. Clean the scanner bed: Make sure that the scanner bed is clean and free of any dust or debris that might be interfering with the scanning process.
  3. Adjust the scanning settings: Try adjusting the scanning settings to ensure that the scanner is set to scan the full frame of the slide. Look for options such as "auto detect slide size" or "manual crop" to adjust the scanning area.
  4. Use a different scanning software: If the issue persists, try using a different scanning software to see if that resolves the problem.
  5. Check for firmware updates: Make sure that your scanner's firmware is up to date. You can check the manufacturer's website for any available updates or patches.
If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance.

Does the HP photosmart 2710 scan negative ansd 35mm slides?

This multi function printer/scanner cannot scan 35mm slides and negatives.
Some flat bed scanners with a lighr scource that shines through 35 mm slides and negatives can scan them.
You will be better off getting a dedicated 35 mm slide/negative scanner.
Check out this WEB site foe slide scanners.

Trying to scan 35mm slides

slide scan is not an option on that model. slide scanner is an option in some models of scanners. I have a HP one as most HP scanners have the setting built into the scan firmware that lowers and higher the light to get correct scan. brother model will not do this its just normal scan setting.

Cant scan 4cm x 4xm slides

The mounted slide scanning option is set for scanning 35mm mounted slides (24mm x 36mm). As far as I know there is no way to change this setting. You may want to try using the film scan option, do a preview scan, and then crop each individual slide for the final scan.
