Colors splitting. My TV is about 5 years old and I noticed  that in the center at  the bottom of the screen, colors splitting. Especially, when the screen is dark, I can see three basic colors that I believe are used to generate overall picture. I suspect that it may be a normal thing for the guns to be adjusted every so often. Am I correct?. If so, how hard is it to do such procedure.

The vertical output section circuit has the fault. Contact any experienced service technician. This is not a user repairable fault.

THAT IS GOING TO MOST LIKELY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE OPTICAL ENGINE AND PANASONIC HAD SEVERAL MODELS THAT HAD PROBLEMS WITH EEPROM CORRUPTION THERE WAS A RECALL TYPE OF EXTENDED WARRANTY I SUGGEST CALLING PANASONIC THEY WILL SEND SOMEONE OUT TO FIX IT MOST LIKELY FREE OF CHARGE :)

This tv have a colors wheel,hear loud motor noises,humming noises,squiling or grinding noises,have pictures black and white.All these causes are by the colors wheel is worn out, warp rubbing against it motor or fiber plastic glass briddle about to brake aparts.Don't turn this tv on anymore until,u change the colors wheel or u will damage the projection engine.The colors wheel are hard to change for amatur and hobiest.Because involved taking out many machanical parts,before even can come to the colors wheel to take out and change it.The best course to to hire a Tv Tech.to do this job.The price colors wheel part and labors.Awhile back was about $500-550,now??

it is time to replace the panel. the micron tube in the panel has already worn out.

nbad convergence ic , this need to be done by a profecional tv tech , because need to check for the pico fuse and resistor around the area

I just replaced the 2 convergance chips, but it did not seem to fix the problem. I then tested all the resistors that feed the convergence chips anf there was a 2.2 ohm fusable blown. IT was R7050 on mine. That seemed to fix it so that I could adjust all the colors through the convergence 2 screen. There seems to be a slight bow near the bottom when you look at the c2 screen, but not noticable when you are watching a picture. Since I got this broken, I am not sure how perfect it should be.

You will need to replace your two convergence I.C.s.They are two large IC mounted on a large aluminum heat sink.Replace both,look for any burned resistors near them,replace those if needed,and readjust your convergence. Good Luck
