Two red flashing lights the print head/cartridges module does go back and forth easily about 3 times when power button on top is turned off then pressed for on. It moves the full length of the silver chrome rod. On the third pass from left to right, in the middle the lights start flashing and the head moves to the far right and stops. It will not feed paper under any conditions that I can see. Now while all this is happening, the silver chrome rod that the head moves on rotates at the beginning. It does wobble a bit like it's not perfectly horizontally aligned, but the head moves very easily. On the first pass from right to left, it does move very slow, but on later passes moves faster.

Have not used my Epson R1800 for almost 6 months. When I turn on the power the printer head, with the cartridges, stayed at the very right end, not moving. The paper and ink lights flash and the head just...

Your User's Guide is available here:

http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/r1800_/r1800_ug.pdf

After leaving the printer inactive for a extended period you should expect the ink cartridges to be dried up and the print head 'gummed' in place.

You will need to refer to page 82 of the pdf, Cleaning the Printer.

As part of cleaning remove the existing ink cartridges and while the cartridges are removed try and clean the print head of any ink residue. Note that if the red light is on or flashing above an ink cartridge the printer sees it as empty (dried up).

The print head will not move if ink cartridges need replacement; replace ink cartridges according to the red lights, likely all. Press the ink button to see if the printer will begin the charging cycle. If all is well the green power light will stay on and the red ink light will go out.

If you do not get this desired outcome try Cleaning the Print Head, page 73 of the User Guide. Hold down the ink button when the red light is off for 3 seconds. Run a nozzle check pattern; if nozzels are not printing a clean pattern, repeat this process up to 3 or 4 times.

Error 6C10 and "copy" and "alarm" buttons flash on machine. Don't know how to fix.

Try keeping the paper only in the bottom tray (there's a tray in the bottom) Try pulling any paper out of the top and just close that top tray. Open up the head so that u can see the ink cartridges and turn the printer on and off and maybe it will center itself again. If it's still not working (even if lights aren't red and print head wont align in the center) try manually moving the head back and forth like 18 times so you can lubricate that rail in the back that's holding it. After that, re-turn it off and on again.

Pixma mx870 printer error

It's probably a waste absorber issue.

A fix from FixYa Support:

1. Start with printer off
2. Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click "Power" button. Green led should be on
3. While holding the Power button, release the Resume Button.
4. Without releasing the Power Button, click "Resume" button for two times and release Both Buttons.
5. Click "Resume" for four times then soon click "Power" button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber).

Both the ink and paper flashed rapidly at the same time.

After intense searching on the net, I tried just about everything. SSC service utility did
Nothing. Turning printer off and on also didn’t help.

Turning printer off then pressing the paper and ink buttons, then turning power on, then waiting for both lights to flash, releasing them and pressing the ink button for 10 seconds also didn’t help.

After days of this I got frustrated, packed the POS back into the box and put it up for sale
On Craigslist. No takers… I was about to put it out to the curb ($540 printer sat in the box for almost a year) but decided to do one last google and found someone talking about the print head moving along the rail.

Suggestion was to turn printer off and see if print head traveled freely back and forth. Ok I thought, Pulled the printer back out of the box and set it up again. Reinstalled software and turned it on. Red lights flashing again! Ok, press the ink button to move head to home, then turn printer off. Then I tried to move head along rail. It moved freely a couple of inches to the left then stopped like something was blocking it.

Took my flashlight out and could not see anything in the way so pushed down on the cartridge cover and heard a “click”….. Duh! The freakin’ cover was not closed! Now the head would move left and right all the way so I turned the printer on and to my amazement NO more flashing red lights! I was both thrilled and depressed (at my stupidity) for not seeing this earlier.

I will post this everywhere I can to remind people that the cartridge cover is the FIRST thing you should check upon seeing both red lights flashing rapidly!!!!!

My r290 add red color to my photos

*** I'll be more than happy to help you on that. you might be talking about R280, because theres no R290 for epson. there is a great possibility thatsome of the nozzles of your printer are clogged by dried inks, thats why when it prints, the inks are not equally distributed or is not balanced.to check that, print a nozzle check, and if you see gaps or breaks, between the lines, do head cleaning. this is how you can do it, its very easy for you. Using the Buttons on the Printer 1. Make sure the printer is turned on but not printing, that the CD/DVD tray is not inserted in the printer, and the red maint.5.1.8.jpg ink light is not on. (If the red maint.5.1.9.jpg ink light is on, you need to replace a cartridge.) 2. Turn the printer off and make sure the front tray is in the paper (lower) position. 3. Make sure letter-size plain paper is loaded in the printer. 4. Hold down the maint.5.1.10.jpg paper button, then press the maint.5.1.11.jpg power button. Hold down both buttons until the maint.5.1.12.jpg power light begins to flash, then release the maint.5.1.13.jpg power button. maint.5.1.14.jpg 5. When the nozzle check starts to print release the maint.5.1.15.jpg paper button. Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines. maint.5.1.16.jpg 6. If there are no gaps or lines, the print head does not need to be cleaned. If there are gaps or lines, or the test patterns are faint, follow the steps in do the Head Cleaning to clean the nozzles. Using the Buttons on the Printer 1. Make sure the printer is turned on but not printing, and the red maint.5.1.23.jpg ink light is off. (If the red maint.5.1.24.jpg ink light is flashing or on, you need to replace a cartridge.) 2. Hold down the maint.5.1.25.jpg ink button on the printer for approximately 3 seconds. The printer runs a head cleaning cycle and the green maint.5.1.26.jpg power light flashes. Cleaning takes several seconds. Caution:
Never turn off the printer while head cleaning is in progress. You may damage it.

Do not insert the CD/DVD tray until cleaning has finished. 3. When the green maint.5.1.27.jpg power light stops flashing, make sure paper is loaded in the printer, then print a nozzle check to determine whether you need to clean the print head again. Print Head Nozzles If you don’t see any improvement after cleaning three times, turn the printer off and wait overnight. This allows any dried ink to soften. Then, try cleaning the print head again.

The on button and arrow button are flashing (cant Print)

Hi. This error means "A carriage jam has occurred".

The steps to correct this problem are (from HP support):

Step one: Move the carriage

1.Lift the top cover of the product.
2.Turn the product off, and then turn it on.
3.Unplug the power cord from the back of the product when the grinding noise starts.
4.Move the carriage towards the middle of the product (this procedure may take a couple of tries to get the timing correct).

Step two: Remove the cartridges

1.Press down lightly on top of the cartridge latch.
2.Pull out the bottom of the latch to unhook it.
3.Slide the print cartridge out of the carriage.
4.Repeat the steps for the other cartridge.
5.Close the top cover.
6.Reconnect the power cord.

Step three: Reinstall the print cartridges

1.Open the printer cover.
2.Wait until the carriage moves to the right side of the printer and is idle and silent.
3.Press down lightly on top of the cartridge latch.
4.Pull out the bottom of the latch to unhook it.
5.Hold the print cartridge so that the copper strips are on the bottom and facing toward the printer, and then slide the print cartridge into the carriage.
* Install the tri-color print cartridge in the left side of the carriage.
* Install the black, photo print cartridge, or the gray photo print cartridge in the right side of the carriage.
NOTE: To easily identify the correct side of the carriage in which to install the print cartridge, match the symbol on the print cartridge label with the symbol above the carriage.

6.Push down on the print cartridge latch until it snaps closed.
7.Lower the cover of the product.

Blinking orange light on hp 932c

Solution

  1. Check to ensure that the top access door is firmly closed.
  2. If the light continues to blink, open the top access door. When the top access door is opened, the print cradle moves so the yellow arrow on top of the cradle points to a drawing of a cartridge. Each drawing describes a symptom.

Solution two:

  1. Turn the printer off. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait 30 seconds. Plug in the power cord to the wall outlet. Plug in the power cord to the back of the printer.
  3. Turn the printer on.
Solution three:

The print cartridge carriage is stuck.

Solution

1. Open the top access door on the printer.

2. Remove the ink cartridges.

3. Turn the printer off, then on again.

4. Replace the ink cartridges.

5. Close the top access door.

Solution Four:

Issue

The 2-Sided Printing Module is installed incorrectly, not at all, or the back access door is unlocked or open.

Solution

1. Turn the knob on the rear access door of the printer counter-clockwise, and remove the door.

c00179776.jpg

2. Insert the module into the back of the printer.

c00179777.jpg

3. If the lights remain on, remove the 2-Sided Printing Module by pressing in the buttons on the ends of the unit.

4. Re-install the 2-Sided Printing Module by pushing the unit back into the printer without pressing the buttons, until it snaps firmly into place.
