We have moved to Ireland and a company assured me that by using a convertor box that the TV would work. The convertor box is for HD television & requires HDMI connector but TV has no HDMI connection. Any suggestions as to how to get this TV to work. I have the transformer & sky box cable.

No sir, there is not such switch in menu to change input from S video to HDMI or something. Here is one suggestion, Use 3 RCA pins cable (Audio L/R & Video) to connect both unit and check/ remember TV input and same should be selected in TV menu.

Make sure you are using the red green and blue cables and not just the video
yellow ,red and white Inputs
the component cables will give you almost as good as the hdmi cable
The debate over monster cables and other is an on going discussion.
I personally have found little or no difference in the 30 dollar cables vs the 200 dollar cables
As long as you are running the component in on the tv you should have a very nice picture

Try the anothe HDMI input or cable or try HDMI from another source (DVD) you could also try component in(Ry,Gy and By) to see if that works.you need first to determine if it's a cable box, cable or TV issue.

While Bluray pluged into the TV change the resolution from AUTO to 720P then plug Bluray back to the receiver and see if it solve your problem.
