SOURCE: Sony DSC-P3 Zoom stopped working
i had that same problem. check your image size, the camera cant zoom if the image size is set to 3.1M or 2.8M(3:2)
how to change image size:
turn on camera and leave it in camera mode (picture taking mode)
press the delete/image button
change image size until camera zooms again
VGA gives the biggest zoom range

Hey, Matt here. You could try getting a cheap broken one off ebay or something. It is unusual for the flash to be the first thing to go so if you got a broken one from ebay the chances are the flash bulb would be good to use. Hope this helps. Matt. Please rate me

Hi there and thanks for coming to FixYa.
To put the date and time stamp on the images do this:
1) Set the Mode dial to Setup.
2) Hit the Up arrow on the control button to Camera and hit the right arrow on the control button.
3) Select Date and Time with by hitting up or down arrow on the control button then press right on the control button.
4) Hit the conrol button up or down to select Date and Time, then press the center of the control button.
5) Return the Mode dial to the camera postion to start taking pictures.

it is probably caused by a strange mode or settings in the modes area..and the quick way to get rid of it is to reset the camera to the factory setting s..
