Co lines 5 - 8 do not appear trunk card is good and also ICS unit has been changed out with a new one still not going from ICS to phones

  • viralniches Oct 22, 2009

    I understand they are 25 - 28 in the system. Don't appear at ext 221 under appear & ring. Hardware sees the 2 trunk cards but only 1 card sends lines to ksu in the first slot on the far right of the 0X32 cabinet. Both DS trunk cards are working. Have tried in a new refurbished 0X32 and still the slot to the left or the 2nd slot sends zero lines to either of the 2 KSU's. Hope that explains better.

    The reason is Line 5-8 is actually Lines 25-28 from the phone system.

    -> What is your question?
    -> What do you mean that these lines do not appear?
    -> What card has been changed... and why was it changed?
    -> What is not going to the ICS (the telephone trunks)?

You need to go into system administration and assign the lines to telephones under the Terminals & Sets heading.

Caller ID not working on Norstar terminal using line dedicated to fax and phone

You must have latest software to have Caller ID
You must have a Caller ID line card
Caller ID must be programmed on the phone to allow it
Caller ID signal from carrier is sent between 1st and 2nd call

FYI on the fax: Analog ports (ATA's) on the Norstar system do not show Caller ID, instead you would need to use a line share device that supports caller id such as the STICK.

Are the memory cards for this machine still available? I purchased this model second hand and memory card 102 is missing and i would like to purchase it. I live in NZ

hi,
you will find ebay the best place to find card accessories for this machine. i have found heaps of cards for the 9000, including the 102. look for numbers with 3 digits for the 9000, 2 digits are for the older 8000, though they will work for the 9000 they are smaller and simpler designs.
ENHMC is another card label that works in our machines, made by amazing designs as after market cards. There are scanners and things second hand but they are a bit difficult. i find i get heaps of designs that you just pop in the machine.

You need to go into lines/trunks and change the line typ from unsupervised to supervised so this will stop. How though?

Changing programming on a Norstar system must be done using a display phone. Using a M7310 or T7316 the right 2 buttons under the display are "NEXT" and "SHOW" respectively.

1.- To enter programming mode press "FEATURE" and "* * 2 6 6 3 4 4"
2.- Enter password (default = 266344) - display should read "Terminals & Sets"
3.- Press "NEXT"(bottom right arrow) - display should read "lines"
4.- Press "SHOW" (top right arrow)- display should ask for a line number
5.- enter in the line number you wish to change the supervision on in a 3 digit format. ex. line 1 = 001
6.- press the show key (top right arrow)
7.- The display should say Trunk/line data
8.- Press "show"(top right arrow) - display should read "trunk type"
9.- Press the next key (bottom right arrow) 7 times"
10.- the display should say "trunk mode: unspr"
11.- Press softkey "CHANGE" to "super"
repeat steps 5 - 11 for the remainder of the lines Press the Rls key when finished

Trying to make every phone ring when the main phone rings

Well that is better than most people in finding the arrows...

Ok, first you need to know the extensions that you want to program to ring, and the lines, record these numbers... if you do not know the extension numbers and actual line numbers; going to each set, and doing a FEATURE * 0 and the Intercom and line buttons this will tell you the extension number and line number (this also tells you what is on every button).

Then goto your set and put in:
-> FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4

Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

You will not see these words in the LCD display, you just have to look for the arrows that correspond.

-> you will now see “TERMINALS&SETS” and press Enter (the top right arrow key)

-> now put in the extn that you want to change (Eg. 227).
-> you should now see the extension number “227: NAME”

-> press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> you will now see “LINE ACCESS

-> press ENTER
-> you will now see “LINE ASSIGNMENT

-> and Enter
-> now you can type in the lines that you want to ring on this extension (Eg. 025 for line 5)

-> hit CHANGE till it says "APPR&RING" (Appear and ring means that the line will have a button on the set)
-> hit NEXT to save changes
-> press FIND to look for more lines and change the appropriate lines to appear and ring
-> then the RLS button (the little orange button) to exit programming.

After this programming is done, dial Feature * 0 and look for these new lines.

Good luck.

Co lines dropping calls on occasion. Sometimes several times a da

Wow, you're running out of hardware options, so time to try the software. Turn your trunks into Unsupervised and see if it changes the operation. You'll probably lose conferencing. The other thing you might try is the timer, but by default it's 460 miliseconds and the next one is 600. If you don't have DS trunks, the Discon timer won't affect anything.

Group forwarding after a delay

In memory block 4-1 for the extension's port, The Lkey for the CO line is lit green for immediate ringing, red for delayed ringing, and off for no ringing.

In memory block 1-1-77 you enter the CO's delayed ringing timer in seconds.

I wouldn't try and deal with seperating into tenants.

What I would suggest is in 4-19 restrict outbound trunk access (corresponding Lkey for CO line is lit to restrict)
For example:
Stations 1-4 would not be allowed to dial out on CO lines 5-6
Stations 5-6 would not be allowed to dial out on CO lines 1-4

This way Company A is not tying up Company B's CO lines for outbound calls and vice-versa.
