I had this problem...ignored it for a year then decided to have it fixed. No-one could fix it where I lived so before I went out and bought a replacement, I removed the top panel on the player (the one over the cd stacker) and had a look myself. There were 2 round discs loose in the player that I guessed were supposed to be attached to the 'arm' that takes the cd and spins it to make it play. I put them back on the 'pin' on the arm - the white disc first then the silver and black one on top and its playing again. I dont know how long for...it does tend to skip sometimes though. Better than nothing at all - and at least now I have a radio too. I'm just a girl who guessed were the parts went however....but maybe the parts inside have atendency to get loose and fall off? Good Luck.
Open the fuse box (to the lower right of the steering wheel), and remove the appropriate fuses for the radio. The fuse diagram is in the manual for the car. When you put it back in it should ask for the security code again. Enter and it will start working again.
Red load light "on" 6-CD stacker AU Fairmont. Ford says it means the system is stuffed and needs replacing. This is what I did. Disconnect the battery and reconnect it. The load light went and the screen returned. I punched in my code and it was fine. I started to eject the CD's and they got jammed. Through trial and error I found that by inserting a plastic card, about a quarter thickness of a credit card, into the CD slot it was easy to prompt the other CD's out. Now, everything is working fine.
My Ba Falcon has a 6 stacker that had a cd stuck... I took it to auto electrician and it came back worse...now it doesnt recognize any cd and says 'wait' and then just goes off
