Rowenta Iron-Professional Luxe The power cord seems to short out when you move iron. You can wiggle it next to the movable ball and it clicks on and off. The two screw heads on bottom appear to be special tool, therefore can't look inside. Suggestions?

I drilled out the nubs in the center of the screws. removed the screws, and took off the back plate. The problem is that the cord seems to be abraiding when it swivels, and eventually wears thru. It seems like a fire hazard and should be looked into by Rowena. Anyway, I cut out the damaged cord and reattached it. Problem fixed..

I have a rowenta proffesional luxe iron but the cable keeps turning it off so when i move the cable it goes back on and when i am ironing it shuts off

you have a open circuit that occurs due to a wire loose at the plug end or a loose connection within the iron. a break in the cable will also display the systems you discribe. check for loose connections before you decide to replace the cable. by keeping the cable stationery when the iron is on at the plug end check wether it switches off when you move the cable near the plug end.if it switches off the loose wire is in the plug if it does not the try the moving the cable nearer the Iron end.

Iron will not go on until you wiggle cord &ball

Rowenta DZ 9050 steam iron must be sent to Rowentas repair service in your area.
Local Fix shops will not work on them.
They have parts only.

The cord on my professional Luxe has a short near the handle.

Take your iron to a hardware store and they should be able to guide you to the tool that you will need.

Power won't come on

You have a short in the cord. If you knew where the short was, you could possibly repair it. However, I would strongly suggest buying a new iron. An iron is an appliance that can burn your house down even when it's in GOOD working order. You should be able to buy a decent iron for around $30, and I would say the peace of mind alone would be worth it. Hope this helps,
Chad
