my desktop computer will not recognize the " sansa c250 " mp3 player, hovever my laptop does! i am unable to add songs to the sansa because i want to drag and drop mp3 files to the folder but its unrecognizable.

My Sansa c250 cannot be found by my XP computer. Going to Device Manager I notice that the device subfolders appear/disappear. I even saw my MP3 player being recognized for a second or two. There is no USB option in the mp3's Settings menu.

I called support and they told me to return it because it was Version 2 and I needed version 1.

Initially my computer didn't recognize my sansa...So I uninstall and reinstalled my Windows Media Player 11...It worked but now I am having the same problem...Initially it connects then disconnects then error message comes up stating that it doesn't recognize the USB device...It's a shame because once the music has been downloaded into the device...It sounds so good..

Where do I go to setting? Do I do that on the actual sansa or somewhere on the computer? The setting menu on the actual sansa does not have anything that says USB.

I have the same problem. No USB option on the Settings menu and computer failing to recognize the mp3. If on XP, go to your device manager while the mp3 is connected. (right-click on My Computer and select Manager then select Device Manager) Everything should appear/disappear etc. if your problem is the same as mine.
I was told that this indicates a version 2 player and that I should return it for a version 1. She couldn't tell me any more than that and I could barely understand her.

I downloaded a Sansa video converter and it keeps saying that my Sansa is not connected after i connect it. Can i have some assistance please?

do u have windows or mac system? if mac,
Although MAC OS is NOT a supported operating system, the Sansa player can still be recognized if the Sansa player is only plugged in MSC mode.

MAC computers do NOT support MTP
A Sansa player in MTP mode when plugged into a MAC computer will NOT be detected or recognized.

MAC computers supports Sansa players in MSC mode
Sansa players can only be recognized by a MAC if the USB mode on the Sansa player is set to Auto Detect or MSC.
See answer ID 207 for instructions on how to put your Sansa player in MSC mode.

See answer ID 1141 for instructions on transferring music to your Sansa player using iTunes on a MAC computer.

Cannot get my computer to recognize my sansa e260 player

On your Sansa Go to "Settings" then "System Settings" then "USB Mode," change it to MSC, now try connecting it. If that doesn't work try the other modes just in case.
Hope this helps!
