Error message saying incorrect print cartridge.

Can't print, keep getting error messages saying that the print cartridge is the wrong one. It is infact the correct one, has never been altered (by adding ink). It's the hp black ink cartridge, 56.

The cartridge was newish, I never added ink to it, and I did clean the copper components. Sometimes, if I reboot the pc and restart the printer, I will be able to print. Sometimes the test printer page comes out first, sometimes just whatever was in the print queue prints.

Check the Electrical contacts on the cartridge itself, they all need to be clean and nice and shiny to work properly. Make sure you haven't overfilled the cartridge too, this can sometimes cause problems. To be honest, the HP cartridges do 'wear out' after a few refills. when they go electrically dead, there is nothing you can do about it apart from buy a new one!

Check print cartridge blinking cartridges refilled today and installed laptop not recognising printer as result

    • If the message on the computer does not identify a particular cartridge (it says only Print cartridge error ), follow the steps below to determine which cartridge is causing the problem.
      1. Open the cartridge access door.
      2. Remove either cartridge (not both).
      3. Close the cartridge access door.
        • If the computer message is Print Cartridge Error , then the print cartridge that is still in the printer is the problem cartridge.
        • If the computer message is NOT Print Cartridge Error (instead, it says that the cartridge you have removed is ...Either missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed), then the cartridge you have removed is the problem cartridge.

  • If the problem still occurs, the electrical contact between the cartridges and the printer might be bad. Removing and reseating the cartridges might help. Also, you can clean the electric contacts on the cartridges with a dry cloth.
Hope that will help solve your problem!

Printed 47 pages, paper for page 48 started to feed incorrectly & was yanked out. However, LCD keeps saying paper jam even though entire paper was retrieved. Turning machine off, on, examined for any...

More likely especially if the paper was pulled out backwards, that the paper sensor just before the platen roller is bent or broken. When you pull paper back up thru the feeder it gets caught on this sensor tab and it gets bent, holding it up just like a paper scrap would. If it's broken or you can't locate it to bend it straight, you will need a shop to repair your printer.

Lexmark x5470

A Right Cartridge Incorrect message generally indicates a communication error between the All-In-One and the cartridge. This can be caused by a faulty cartridge; however, it may be due to a simple interruption in the communication between the cartridge and the All-In-One.
The procedures below will help you to identify the cause of the error and resolve the issue.
Rebricking the All-In-One and Resetting the NVRAM
NOTE: The embedded links in the table lead to specific troubleshooting documents.

Step Action 1 Power off the All-In-One and remove the power brick from the back of the unit. Wait 20 seconds. Then reinsert the brick and power the unit back on.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.
2 Reset the NVRAM of the All-In-One
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to Checking the Cartridges.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.

Checking the Cartridges
NOTE: The embedded links in the table lead to specific troubleshooting documents.

Step Action 1 Open the top cover of the All-In-One. Remove both cartridges. Close the top cover. 2 Power off the All-In-One and remove the power supply brick from the back of the unit. 3 Reinsert the power supply brick into the back of the All-In-One and power the unit back on.
Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Skip to Contacting Lexmark. There is a hardware issue with your printer and you need to contact our technical support center.
No: Continue to step 4.
4 Clean the cartridge contacts (click here for instructions) and the AIO carrier contacts (click here for instructions). Continue to step 5.
5 Power the AIO on, reinsert the black/photo cartridge, and close the top cover. Power the All-In-One off and then back on.
Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Power the unit off and try step 5 with another black/photo cartridge. If the error persists with the new cartridge, proceed to Contacting Lexmark.
No: Continue to step 6.
6 Power the AIO on, reinsert the color cartridge, and close the top cover. Power the All-In-One off and then back on.

Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Power the unit off and try step 6 with another color cartridge. If the error persists with the new cartridge, proceed to Contacting Lexmark.
No: Try printing a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved
