Hello, I will not ask what you want to do with the equation I will answer your question about the equal sign. Press [2nd][CATALOG] you access the catalog of available commands. The equal sign is near the bottom of the list. So it is faster to scroll up from the top, and keep scrolling up till you reach the =. Select it and press [ENTER], it will echoe at the place where the cursor was before you press [2nd][CATALOG]. Complete your equation. Hope it helps.

How to put in an "equal sign " into the TI-30XS Multiview calculator?

Yes you can enter basic or complicated expressions, you just can't enter equalities nor equations. The calculator cannot solve equations. When an expression (without an = sign) is entered, pressing the ENTER key will evaluate it.

How to find the equal sign to use with variables for the fx-300ES PLUS"?

There is none. For the TABLE feature the calculator will display the = sign. f(X)=.... For solving an equation (or equations) the right sides are assumed to be 0, so, you do not need the sign.

Is this equation in its simplest form? 4(fg+3g)+5g

That isn't an equation since there's no equal sign ("="). A simpler form of the expression is 4fg + 17g.

How do I type an equal sign into the calculator? As in 5x+6=6x-3. I want to put this equation into the calculator, but i cannot figure out how to type and equal sign

Look at the top left corner of the keypad. If you have a = sign marked on the f ace of the calculator (near a CALc or Solve key) you can enter the = by pressing [ALPHA] then the key next to which there is an = sign.
If you do not have that second = sign, you cannot enter it.
The FX-115ES and the FX-991ES do have that sign to allow the user to enter equations. In your calculator you only have three calculational modes: the general COMP mode, the STAT mode and the Table Mode. No equation mode. Sorry.

How do i use the equal sign when solving an equation?

You enter the problem into the calculator and when you are finished you press the equals sign to make it give you the answer to your problem.

Here is an example;

If I wanted to know what the sum (or total) was for 2 + 10+ 16 - I would enter the number 2 and then the plus sign + and then the number ten and the plus sign + and then the number sixteen and the plus sign again + and then press the equals sign which looks like this =. when I press the equals sign = the calculator gives me the answer to my question of what the total of those numbers are.

I hope this helps?

5/4x-18=-3 Ti 84 plus One: just press enter/solve Two: press 2nd Test (Math) then press enter Every time I put in and equation using the above method for the equal sign. it either takes me back to...

If you wan to solve an equation using the SOLVE feature you enter it as follows (your example)
You should rewrite it as 5/4*X-18+3 (= 0). Implicitly, the calculator assumes that the right side is ZERO and you do not enter any right side nor an equal sign.
Type in
5/4 [*] [X,T,theta, n] -18 +3 [ALPHA] [ENTER] (SOLVE)
You should get an answer -780/47 or the decimal equivalent (depending on display mode.)

My ti-84 is only graphing one linear equation in the y equal when i put two equations in it only show one

The following should help you draw several graphs.
When you enter a function you should press [ENTER] to validate. At the same time, the cursor moves to the next line. Verify that the = sign on the equation already entered is still highlighted.
If for some reason the = sign of an equation is no longer highlighted, use arrow keys to move cursor on the = sign and press [ENTER].

If only one = sign remains highlighted and all others are not, then in all probability the application Transfrm has been executed before and is still lingering in RAM. When in RAM, it takes over the graphing capabilities of the native OS. This prevents you from drawing more than one graph. You must unload it from memory.
  1. Press the [APPS] key.
  2. Scroll down to the line that shows Transfrm.
  3. Highlight it and press [ENTER].
  4. In following screen you are invited to Uninstall or continue.
  5. Press the number to the left of Uninstall. Validate if need be.
  6. Return to the Y= editor to type in functions to graph.

I use the Y= key and type in my two equations, then i hit the graph button and it doesn't show up, why won't it graph for me?

Hello,
Once you enter an equation the corresponding equal sign is highlighted by default. Before you draw the 2 graphs, move the cursor to Y3 or Y4 and verify that the = signs for Y1 and Y2 remain highlighted. If one is not highlighted, move the cursor on it and press ENTER.
If you still have problem, press [2nd][STATPLOTS][4: PlotsOff] [ENTER]
Command PlotsOff echoes on main screen. Press [ENTER], screen displays Done.
If all else fails, just reset the RAM by pressing [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All RAM][2:Reset], press [CLEAR] to clear the message.
You shouild make it a habit to clear the RAM every time you start a new type of problem.

Hope it helps.
